I already own a few Govee products, so I decided to give this smart bedside lamp a try. I really needed a new bedside lamp, so I figured I’d test it out—and I’m so glad I did. I ended up loving it. The brightness is excellent. It can get very bright at 100%, but you can also dim it down as much as you want, which is perfect for nighttime use. I was pleasantly surprised by how many different settings it has. I’ve used the Govee app before with my monitor backlight, but the features on this lamp feel completely different and much more immersive. There are so many fun modes—like fire-like flames, fireflies floating around, night sky effects, and soothing ambient lights. One of my favorite features is that you can actually draw in the app and have your drawing show up on the lamp. It feels creative and playful, not just functional. I was so satisfied with this lamp that I bought one for my sister, and I’m planning to get one for my parents as well. Great quality, great features, and amazing value for the price. Highly recommend.

Really happy with this lamp! The colors are bright and fun, and I love all the different scene modes. It was easy to set up and connected to Alexa with no issues. The touch controls work well, and it’s the perfect size for a nightstand. Great little lamp for adding mood lighting to a bedroom or living room.

I really enjoy my new lamp. Setup was very easy, I enjoyed a lot of the premade scenes in the app but very quickly moved on to making my own. I found the DIY features to be pretty adequate, but I think there's some mild room for improvement. The lamp itself is a well put together piece. My one criticism would be the clear/metallic plastic base - which up close doesn't look great, but in low lighting conditions does produce a nice effect. The lamp can get pretty bright and will light my whole room at Max brightness, but you wouldn't want to use it as a primary lighting source. The colors of the LED are superb and look really nice. They also really nailed it with the diffusion and controller, the animations look really smooth and the lights all blend - you won't get a pixelated look. I enjoyed it so much I ended up buying the glide wall lights to pair with it, which was the right choice. I think this piece really pops as a bedside companion piece to a larger wall installation.

I wanted something to add a little personality to my desk without going overboard and this lamp hits the right balance. The RGBIC lighting is the real selling point. Unlike basic RGB where the whole strip is one color, this one can show multiple colors at the same time which looks really clean on a desk setup. The app works well, easy to navigate and the scenes and color options are more than enough to keep things interesting. I mostly keep it on a calm warm tone while I work but it’s nice to switch it up when I want something different. It’s not trying to be anything it’s not. Good build quality, looks sleek, does exactly what you’d expect from a Govee product. As a bona fide smart home enthusiast (and proud Home Assistant user!), I'm always on the lookout for gadgets that seamlessly integrate and truly enhance my living space. The Govee RGBIC Smart Table Lamp 2 caught my eye, and after some time with it, I can confidently say it's a fantastic addition, albeit with a couple of minor quibbles. Setup was a breeze, especially with Matter support, which meant getting it hooked into Home Assistant was practically effortless. The build quality feels solid, and the touch controls on the lamp itself are surprisingly intuitive, a quick tap to power on/off, and +/- for brightness. The RGBIC lighting is, as expected from Govee, vibrant and impressive. The ability to display multiple colors at once creates some truly stunning effects, and the 64 scene modes offer a fantastic range of ambiance. From a calming soft glow for winding down to a dynamic, colorful display for a party, this lamp handles it all. I especially love being able to customize DIY patterns through the Govee Home app. Now, for the "almost" perfect part. While the brightness range is good for most scenarios (it goes from 1% to 100%), I do find myself wishing it could get just a tad brighter for those times I need more task lighting, and conversely, a hair dimmer for truly dark, subtle night light use. It's not a dealbreaker by any means, and the existing range is still very functional, but it's something I've noticed in my day-to-day use. Pros: - Seamless Smart Home Integration: Works beautifully with Matter, Alexa, Google Assistant, and especially well with Home Assistant. - Vibrant RGBIC Lighting: Stunning color options and dynamic scenes. - Excellent Customization: DIY mode in the Govee app lets you create unique light patterns. - Intuitive Touch Controls: Easy to use directly on the lamp. - Solid Build Quality: Feels well-made and durable. Cons: -Brightness Range: Could benefit from being slightly brighter at its maximum and slightly dimmer at its minimum for specific use cases. - I cannot use the scenes in home assistant via matter Overall, if you're looking for a smart table lamp that offers incredible color customization, excellent smart home integration, and a sleek design, the Govee RGBIC Smart Table Lamp 2 is an easy recommendation. It’s a great product that delivers on its promises, making it a worthy addition to any smart home setup.

The Govee lamp is an easy way to add some spice to any space. There’s a wide range of color options, some that resemble lava lamps, and some that have many different effects. If you have other Govee products, you can sync them all up to the same scenes. It’s super easy to use and setup. Does not take up no where near as much space as my old lamp. I will note, that this lamp shouldn’t be used as a standalone lamp. The previous lamp I had on my dresser illuminated the dresser way more. If I need to do something in the dark, this is not bright enough to fully illuminate my dresser for those real tedious activities. You’d still need a brighter light for those kind of things. I own many Govee products and would highly recommend this lamp, as long as you don’t expect it to fully illuminate an entire workspace alone.

Update: Govee reached out to me and worked with me to solve the issues I was having. Now the light is bright and the Matter connection is reliable! Great company with great customer service. If you run into issues with Govee products, I would encourage you to reach out to these guys. They care about their customers and their products. Because of this experience, I will be buying more Govee products in the future! The design and build quality of the Ovee RGBIC Smart Table Lamp 2 are genuinely impressive. It feels solid, looks great on a nightstand or desk, and has a modern aesthetic that easily fits into a bedroom or living room. The touch controls are responsive, and the lamp itself seems well-constructed. Unfortunately, the performance doesn’t live up to the hardware. The colors all run extremely cold, even when choosing warmer presets. Instead of cozy ambient light, everything skews blue or harsh which makes it difficult to use as a relaxing bedside lamp. The 64 scene modes look nice in theory, but the color temperature issue undermines their usefulness. The other problem is the Matter connection, which has been very unreliable. It drops from my smart home setup frequently, sometimes refuses to reconnect without a reset, and doesn’t behave consistently with Homekit. For a lamp marketed as smart-home friendly, the instability is frustrating. Overall, the lamp has potential thanks to its excellent physical design, but the cold color profile and flaky connectivity make it hard to recommend at this price.

I think it's a very nice lamp that looks attractive when lit up, where many of the modes have attractive blends of moving colours, and it's quiet. The light can be very bright, but can easily be adjusted with or without an app. An app or device aren't essential to use the lamp (there are some buttons on top), but you will need one for more customised displays, to have self-changing modes, for it to work on a timer, or for it to respond to music. Downsides would be that it's a bit expensive at full price; could look better when turned off; the different modes don't have a smooth/blended transition; I can't make a range of presets to set to physical buttons; and the autoplay feature turns off when the lamp does, meaning the autoplay needs to be turned on via the app every time instead of just starting automatically along with the timer. I don't like being so tied to an app (which seems to need bluetooth and precise location) and feel the colour options and modes within it could be made easier to customise. Despite my minor negatives, it still fits the bil for a colour changing lamp so still gets 5 stars. (As a side note for anyone who is unsure, this item plugs into an outlet with a regular plug (not a USB), and the cord is a faily average length, so some people may need an extension cord).
