Greay for marking locations through holes in all sorts of thickness materials. More like a chalk than a paint so it erases easily if you need to remove.

Needs one little improvement for 5 stars
This is a great tool and has been very useful. The only problem I've had with it is the chalk color--bright, but light, green. Using it on a pale blue wall, it was very difficult to me to find the marks it made, maybe because the color is a little neon-looking and my eyes had trouble focusing on it? I don't know, but it might be a problem for anyone who's color-blind (which I'm not).

For those situations where you have a deep hole and even their amazing pencils cannot reach this is a life saver. Don't know why I waited so long to buy. cannot recommend it enough, and their pencils as well.
