I’ve never had pure ashwagandha before - just as an ingredient - so I didn’t know what to expect. The sturdy pouch with a reclosable zip top (that doesn’t work) contains a very fine powder. It doesn’t have a lot of flavor, pretty bland - which is great to add to a smoothie without changing the taste.I was surprised that the package recommends you to consult with a doctor before adding this powder to your diet if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking medications. Maybe should have included that in the product information online.

This ashwagandha root powder is easily mixed into drinks such as hot coffee, and since I already put in mushroom powder and collagen, I can’t even detect it. I use a frother to blend it so there are no lumps. I am unable to get the resealable bag to reseal, so I have a clip on mine, but that is only a minor bother. This product is USDA organic and GMP certified, and reading the label, I learned that this is also known as “Indian ginseng.” Add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon with warm water or to protein shakes, smoothies, or energy drinks (according to the label) daily.

I appreciate that this powder is simply ashwagandha powder, nothing extra. You need just a little bit every day, preferably added to your morning smoothie (or, really, a glass of water) and you're good to go. My eldest son takes this in pill form and I am hoping he will have even more benefits with this powder. I like that it comes in a resealable bag and, again, a little bit goes a long way. A 4 ounce package has 114 servings, almost 4 months of daily ashwagandha for a single person.
