picture quality and signal strength
The installation was simple and was up and running within 5 minutes. I placed it in my entertainment center nowhere near a window. I was really surprised how many stations it found. The picture quality is excellent. Strong signal reception even during storms. Works great for local channels which we lost on our cable.

Great and powerful little antenna with easy set up and small footprint
This is a great device! We replaced the older amazon flat surface one that we had posted to the wall and which tore off the plaster and paint when we had to move it or take it down. The setup was a breeze and it is a great feature that it uses the tv usb to charge so we don’t need to hog precious outlet space. Interestingly, although we live right in town, we couldn’t get any channels until we used the long distance tuner. We got over 50 channels including NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX. No pixilation. We rarely watch live tv, so the small footprint is a plus and when we want to watch live tv, we can use the lengthy cord to stick it to the vent using the magnetic base high on the ceiling for the best reception and then take it down when no in use so we don’t have a cord draping down the wall. So glad to have a viable workaround to cable or paying exorbitant streaming fees to be able to watch the 9ers on FOX.

Very Surprised - WORKS GREAT!
I was skeptical about this type of product actually working, but my son-in-law convinced me to try it. He had bought one and said it worked for him. The installation was simple, and after figuring out how to get my Sony TV to do an automatic scan for channels, it was up and running within 5 minutes. I placed it on top of my entertainment center that had access to a north facing window. I was really surprised how many stations it logged. The quality of the picture was as good as I was getting with my Cable TV Setup. I have already called my service provider and will be ending my Cable TV service. This is going to save me approximately $112 per month. I definitely recommend giving this indoor antenna a try.

Updated: It doesn't works any better than the flat plate antenna it replaced. Updated: 20250511
FEEDBACK: This Antenna does not work any better than the one it replaced! I changed this review from 5-stars, to 2-stars, and now to 1-star. The reason for the last star removal has been continued signal dropouts necessitating frequent re-scans of the channels. The reason the Phillips LTE Filter was a frequently purchase item might be because the Center Pin in the CO-AX cable from the inline amplifier is too thick to insert into the Antenna Jack on our TV Set. I did use a fair amount of strength to try to force the Pin into the Antenna since some F Connections have spring loaded contacts to accommodate out-of-spec pins, but I didn't want to damage the TV Set's Connection. It's past the return window, and at least it's not worse that the antenna I was trying to update from March of 2022. Back to the Phillips LTE Filter, it is a short barrel shaped device the is designed to attach to the TV Set's "F" style Antenna Connection with a Male Connection with a Hex Nut on one end, and the other end, the Female end, is threaded externally with a small socket with the spring loaded fork styled connection allowing for Out-Of-Spec Co-Ax Pins. Wala, it fits now! FWIW, The Phillips LTE/5G Filter is a very well made accessory if your TV is having Radio Frequency Interference Issues from Cell Phones, and is so handy I bought two in case this Antenna had actual lived up to it's hype, and I also replaced another Flat Antenna on another set. The Oversize Center Conductor is probably a repetitive issue since it was shown as part of an optional bundle with the Antenna when I bought it, and I see it is still there. I thought it could be useful if the dropouts we have been experiencing with both antennas, were being caused by Cell Phone interference, that I was attributing to the Plaster with Metal Lath Walls in our house. It turns out the filter is a solution to a possible undisclosed problem with the oversize Antenna Output Connection. As far as returning the Antenna, the Return Window I just checked again, and it expired almost a month ago. :( I left my previous review in place starting here.> "I bought this to replace the flat plate antenna we have been using for several years with our TV in the Kitchen. Our house has plaster, not drywall walls, and TV reception in the back of the house has been troublesome due to the metal mesh lath in the plaster walls, that acts like a Faraday Cage and blocks TV signals very easily. The antenna we have been using was very susceptible to anything, like a person walking around in the kitchen, and the TV would either freeze or just drop the signal, sometimes requiring another channel scan before we could get any reception. Since this antenna has been attached to the TV set, I mounted the antenna on a light stand so the Antenna was just below the ceiling, and after experimenting with the position and orientation of the antenna I found the best signal we've had for years to help me decide where to place the antenna. Unfortunately, the Lath is buried too far into the plaster to be able to support the weight of the cable and antenna with the magnetic base, so I will be using Out-Of-This-World Clear Double Stick (Alien) Tape to place the antenna a couple of inches from the wall, upside down on the ceiling, and using small bits of the tape to hold the cable up. This antenna will solve the weak reception issue we've been dealing with for years! I also used the Phillips 4g 5g LTE Filter on the Coax going into the antenna connection on the TV to minimize interference." I'm sorry if anyone used my earlier review to make a purchase decision strictly from my review. I have to say that someone made me an offer I was foolish to accept.

Works good and is easier than a flat panel - then why did I give it a 4?
I have been using antennas for all my TVs since they switched over to digital signals for years now - and I am 30 miles from Philadelphia- My Previous home was 10 miles from NYC - so in NYC areaI got well over 60 channels- Here in Pa 40 something- Depending on your viewing preferences many channels are not very interesting- however I am an old guy and there is a lot of old school shows available. In both cases I get/got the Network Channels- which I use 90% of the time- we also use the internet for Netflix etc. Anyway back to this antenna- It works fine, but I gave it a 4 as it does get as many channels as my previous antennas - My previous antennas were flat panel and the type I had previously purchased were not available so I thought I would try this type - which I am going to call pedestal. I have tried it in 3 different locations- same results. The positive side to this antenna is - you do not have to hang it like the flat panel, and it even worked in my basement.
