Pleasantly surprised
I was not sure what to expect when I started to play Clock Tower 3. I didn't know if it would have demons and monsters (ala Silent Hill) or what. However, from the moment I started playing it, I was hooked. The graphics are smooth, the sound is eerie and the controls are easy to master. You take control of a 14 year old girl called Alyssa and you must try and find out what happened to your mother. The game is divided into various chapters (5 in all) and each chapter is set in a different time and place and it is your 'mission' to find out as much as you can about the sinister environments you explore. They range from sewers, to graveyards, to hospitals...Unlike Silent Hill, however, your only 'weapon' during the game is a limited supply of holy water which you can use to temporarily stun pursuing enemies. Your only real enemies in the game are demented serial killers who have been brought back to life thanks to the help of some evil spirits. They relentlessly pursue you until the end of the chapter, where you get to fight them with special arrows which are able to destroy them. You do not have a health meter in the traditional sense but rather a 'panic meter' which affects the way you move. If your panic level becomes too high, you will begin to stagger uncontrollably and occasionally freeze because of fright which makes you very vulnerable. Your only way to prevent this is to run away quick or use 'lavender water' to alleviate your panic.I would definately stress that this game is not for everyone. Fans of Silent Hill and similar survival horror games may not take a liking to CT3 because of it's lack of weapons and unusual style. I would suggest perhaps renting it first before buying and if you have played Capcom's similar game, Haunting Ground, and didn't like it, you'll probably be disappointed with this.

Really awful
Do you enjoy running and hiding? Then this game is for you! You will control a teenage girl and spend approxmiately half your time running around like a maniac and the other half hiding. The controls are terrible as the angle changes you will have to quickly readjust with the control stick or you will run into a wall and get pounded by the person chasing you until you go into panic mode and then they will kill you with one hit unless of course you drink something which takes so long you will get hit and die anyway. Extremely frustrating. The game dynamics are terrible, either you will get clobbered or you will clobber the enemy. There seems to be no in between. The storyline is predictable and the only motivation for me to finish off the final boss was not having to sit through a 2-3 minute cutscene again that you cannot skip through.

BLAH!!!
This game looks great and has a good storline. But the gameplay is rubbish. You have no weapons except for a bottle of water which does next to nothing to the monsters. You have a bow when you fight bosses which isnt any good. The first part of the game was really good. The moster was really scary and would jump out when you least expected it. But then it just got to repetitive and became boring. Not a very good game and would only recommend to serious fans of Clock Tower...

Work of art
Clock Tower 3 is a truly great game. With Capcom on its side now, it can't getbetter. Sure, there are some flaws (Doesn't every game have flaws?), butdespite that, the game is enjoyable.

complete and utter tosh
I bought this as I wanted a different survival horror game I had not previously played. Ive managed to complete most of the resi and silent hill games and thisgame being made by capcom I thought Id give it a whirl. I understood before buying this that there was relativley no real combat in the game and more of a "run and hide feature". That intrigued me. Oh dear... how silly I was. The game starts off ok and the graphics are decent capcom old school horror rendered backgrounds. But its the gameplay that lets this down so badly. The constant running and hiding while some maniac boss chases you gets very tedious and more so when you need a little time to figure out a particular area or puzzle. For example you'll enter a room first time and have a look around. Walk into another room and trigger the boss character- youll find yourself running around for ages untill youve figured out how to actually defeat it or move onto the next area. Im all for a bit of a challenge but this takes the michael. Its just no fun running away constantly around and around the same area with some tedious repetitve music to boot. Ive just discovered theres a similar game that Capcom released with the same format called Haunted Grounds or something like that. God help us all...
