I love this book. It’s a really fun and entertaining gift for yourself — or for anyone you know who’s a fan of true crime, murder mysteries or Clue (the movie and, especially, the board game). If you’re the type of person who binge-watches HLN, you won’t be able to put this book down. But HLN isn’t interactive, and this book is. It allows you to fall into a fascinating rabbit hole of famous crimes, heists, investigations, trials, cybercrime, unsolved murders and serial killers. The Hillside Strangler, Patty Hearst, Charles Manson, Jimmy Hoffa, John Gotti, Jeffrey Dahmer, Jack the Ripper — they’re all in here. There’s a huge collection of puzzles on a variety of topics, so you can test how much you actually know about true crime. You have to investigate things such as an evidence board, fingerprints and surveillance camera footage, just as a detective would. You can really learn a lot while having fun getting through the book. There are tons of activities, including crosswords, quizzes, word searches, mazes and sudoku. So, even if you’re not into true crime, but are into puzzles and want a new, fascinating topic to tackle, you’ll get a lot of entertainment from this book. The puzzles are fun, but they really test your memory and improve your investigative skills. And if you’re an aficionado of true crime, but not so much with different types of puzzles, the author provides clear and detailed instructions for how to solve each puzzle. This is at the beginning of the book. Then, if you’re totally stumped and struggling to solve a puzzle or question, there’s an “Answer Key” at the back of the book that satisfies any curiosity. Another thing I really love about this book is that it’s the perfect size to travel with, decoding cryptograms and answering trivia at the airport or on the airplane. There are some funny parts though, so people might catch you laughing to yourself!

I love a good puzzle and this book delivered plenty with tons of information on crimes, heists, law enforcement, investigation, and more. Plus the info mostly comes in tidbits that you can easily remember and show off to your friends later. I definitely appreciated the quick tutorials on the different types of puzzles - I’ve never even heard of futoshiki before! The matching puzzles were clever and cute (polygraphs, shoe prints, DNA, surveillance footage, seized jewelry!) and the image quality for these was way above average compared to your run of the mill puzzle book. It’s an easily carried size for traveling or your desk. Well done!

I love this! I already ordered a physical copy. There is a wide variety of puzzles, easy to difficult. Very engaging! So many topics, from heists to serial killers. If you love puzzle books, definitely check out this one!
