Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators (2025): NAVWEPS 00-80T-80 (ASA FAA Handbook Series)

A gem
I earned a Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School. Several of us were talking during the last semester, and someone remarked that fully half of the graduate level courses in aeronautics could have been taught from this book. Although it is written with the Naval Aviator in mind, it is an excellent source for any beginning pilot. This book is well worth the money.

The real deal
This text is still the classic work on high speed aerodynamics for pilots. As such, this book is recommended reading. Due to its nature it won’t be your most favorite book, but alas. (Unless you intent to become a test pilot. This is probably just your nighttime lecture)It is somewhat dated in print and picture quality, and the actual print format doesn’t match the actual paper size used, which doesn’t increase its readability, but that’s just how this book is out on the market..The pink cover is an interesting choice. 😀But of course, the best time to fly is early in the morning, and the sky certainly has a pink touch to it..

Great Aero primer
With all the change in technology, it's good to know that aerodynamic principles have remained unchanged for over 50 years..The contents are great. Might be a little heavy for the less technically oriented, but the charts are a big help. The book seems well bound, though the page paper is not great: hopefully highlighter will not bleed through to the back side of each page. The advertised 2023 publication date is the print run. Inside the cover is simply one big photocopy of NAVAIR's 1965 edition.

Good but could use modification to display
Really great book at explaining the aerodynamics of aircraft. However, is definitely a dry read and looks like the original copy made way back, is still just being copied and pasted into a new book so it makes it a little hard. You also always have to flip to different pages to see the diagrams being explained on another page.

For advanced pilots.
A classic. Too advance for private pilots, but may be a useful tool for those pursuing advanced ratings.

A Great Library resource for aerospace matters and engineering
I have this manual in both hard copy and PDF / Kindle. Although it is an old book, the late Harry Hurt did a super-nice job of compiling a manual for the aviation afficianado.

Wish I had a copy when I was starting my engineering and flying career.
Best explanation of aeronautical concepts I have read. I wish I had had this book when I was getting my degree in aero engineering. It is easier to dig into the math when you have a clear mental image of the process. It is obvious why it has become such a highly respected book on the subject.

Read and go deeper than what PHAK has to offer...
The only book in the u.s that gathers and summerize the more in-dept aerodynamic knowledge a pilot need to have.

Five Stars
Very well written, a reference book for all pilots who wants to learn more.

Rip-off
The quality of the product was below par. It was a rip-off, wherein they have photocopied the original one and pasted the pages poorly, and trying to sell it off.The first time you open the book, not even that, looking at the quality of the cover itself, you can make out that it is not the original copy.
