Epson EcoTank L555 Multifunction Inkjet Printer with Refillable Ink Tank

I bought this as a replacement for my Epson BX610FW purely on the basis of the ink system. No more expensive cartridges that signal INK OUT when they are styill partially filled. You buy bottles of ink and if all the ink doesn't go in, seal the bottle and add it later. You are never throwing away ink because the cartiridge can't use it. Quality is up to usual Epson standard and with the promise of 2 years use from one set of ink bottles Epson have got a winner here.

Nozzle check, printer alignment, head cleaning. Nothing will make printing in colour worth the money this printer cost me. Printing pie charts with a lot of solid colour results in a hideous banded mess (see a test picture attached) If I hadn't already ditched all the packaging, this would be back to Amazon for a refund. Scanner is great. Duplex fine. Wi-fi set-up easy. Software installation all easy and compatible with both my PC and MAC. Print quality is 0/10

I was using Windows 8.1. I purchased this model about 15 months ago and thought it the best printer I had ever used. The ecotank facility is a real boon - no more waste of time trying to insert fiddly cartridges! . At the end of the 15 months, when everything was still working smoothly and I still had plenty of ink left, Microsoft insisted on my upgrading to Windows 10. Shortly afterwards, Microsoft downloaded two upgrades to Windows 10. My Epson printer immediately stopped working. I spent a full day trying to correct the problem and then gave up. As I need a printer urgently, I purchased another Epson Eco Tank model - and found that this also refused to work I contacted Epson for help and they advised me of a download which would correct the problem. I downloaded this. Both Epson Eco tank printers still refused to work. I had no time to waste on this headache, so I abandoned the idea of using an Epson Eco Tank and bought a Canon model instead. This works perfectly - but I am back to using those infernal cartridges again. As soon as Epson puts out an Ecotank model which has integral Windows 10 usage, I shall purchase it again.

Not what expected from a checked - refurbished, used product, No software or drivers Cd, you have to go on line to obtain these, No spare Inks, Check product for ink when it arrives as my black was out of ink on arrival, For those who have no Technology experience the Wi Fi set up is not easy because your PC has to be set up so the Wi FI connection can find it.

Arrived quickly, easy to set up - no big problems after a month or so. Every now and then, paper goes through the printer without being printed to, but this is fairly rare. Could be the cheap paper I use! Printing quality is fine for my needs (printing invoices, packing slips, kids' homework, etc). Not recommended if quality is your top priority, but it's still on a par with other mainstream printers and compares well. Scanner very good too - I use this a lot - the control panel software for the scanner is better than that of a dedicated scanner I used to have! Haven't checked the ink consumption yet, which is the main reason for buying this - will update at a later date when one of the bottles needs refilling (hopefully a long time away...) very good printer

I have always had Epson Printers over the years and they have always been brilliant, until I bought this one! I have now had 2 of these printers and both fail to print anything that I can call acceptable!! There are lines through prints even after head cleaning etc!! Essentially this printer is a fab idea but at the price it is and the rubbish quality it prints at I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately. Amazon have been brilliant sorting out a replacement and then today helping organise the refund and return.

Ordered the printer on Sunday and it has arrived this morning. Overall it's a great printer and the supplier has been great as I got an updated version o f the L555 which is the L565. Took 30 minutes to set up and already printed out my work sheets with no hassle at all. The ink pots were easy to fill however next time will wear rubber gloves as I got ink on my hands. Gave this a 4 star adjust because of the ink on my hands and slight smudging on paper print.
