Just before of receiving these I just lost my ID but now that I have these retractable clip on holders it's been amazing not having to look for my ID anymore ..

These are a little larger than I thought they would be, but they are strong and heavy-duty. They work great for keys or a badge. The spring is strong, and the cord is an adequate length for most applications. Because of the size, I knocked off a star.

The housing for these retractable reels is twice as large as the cheap lanyard reels supplied for free at my workplace, but these big reels use a strong steel cable. My work reels were a thin nylon line covered with a fabric sleeve, and they break once every few months -- first the sleeve unravels and jams into the reel, and then soon afterwards the nylon line snaps. It's even a security risk because my badge is an RFID pass that lets me into the building, and at least one time the nylon reel snapped and my badge fell onto the street. I do not think the steel cables in these reels will break in the next year, even though I attach a badge wallet with several cards inside. I simply removed the cheap reel from my lanyard and clipped one of these heavy-duty reels onto the end loop of my lanyard ribbon. As a bonus, I could unclip the reel and use its carabiner to clip onto a beltloop, but usually I wear this big thing around my neck.

These work awesome for holding name tags or keys. It's great that it comes in a two pack so keep the both for yourself or give the other to a friend. Great price and are lightweight so they are not to heavy to clip anywhere.

These are a little bigger and heavier than I expected. I think they're too heavy to wear around your neck on a lanyard, but they are fine for a belt loop.It is kind of a drag that one is ONLY for a badge. Why not make them exactly the same, so that you can hang your keys and badge from either one? They should have made them identical in case you lose one.

I tried using this with a key ring that had 30 keys on it (yea I know that's excessive) and naturally that was too heavy and the weight pulled the cord out. But if it's a reasonable amount of keys, these are great. They retract well and seem to be reliable, both for keys and a badge holder. Looking at you, PIV badge.

So, these are good sturdy retractable badge holders. The cord is thicker than any badge holder I've used in the past and gives me hope that it will have a longer lifespan.However, these are definitely awkward to use. The body of the retractable cord is very large, easily twice the diameter of most badge holders, and it is fixed to the clip in such a way that it will spin but will not bend or curve at all, resulting that it sticks down rather awkwardly when I clip my badge to a belt loop for easy access.Still, all in all, I've been using this for my work badge and it seems to do pretty well, even if my badge hangs nearly to my knee when not in use!

These are pretty nice, rectract like you'd hope, and have a strong cable. They wind up easily and hold a decent bit of weight with no issues. The cord is a good length. I can pull it from a backpack to the front of me with no issues. The top clip part (I put mine on a backpack) works well too!
