Excellent splint
I bought this splint following a thumb injury from snowboarding. I had been provided another splint from my orthopedic surgeon from one of the "big name" companies. While the provided splint did immobilize my thumb, it was quite bulky. I chose this Arrow splint because I liked the more "minimalist" design, but which still seemed to offer appropriate support. After several months of use, I still find it an excellent splint, but have a few minor critiques, which relate to comfort. PROS: - The design is not bulky, so has less of an impact on daily movement. However, it is well-designed regarding levels of immobilization, so it really does limit thumb mobility and promote rest of an injured thumb/joint. - You can remove the aluminum immobilizer and tweak it for an improved fit. - The Velcro straps are designed such that they do not snag on clothes/other objects. CONS - While generally quite comfortable, the splint could benefit from slightly more padding along the aluminum immobilizer. - The fabric under the wrist straps could be a bit larger, so that the wrist straps don't rub on the skin. The straps are generally not causing a problem, but occasionally I will have to adjust the protective fabric for better coverage. Additionally, this fabric could be slightly more substantial, but to increase the comfort. - The wrist Velcro straps would benefit from being the same length, and maybe 1-2 cm longer. The shorter of the two wrist straps will come out of its loop when placing or removing the splint. If it were a little longer, then it would not need to be re-thread for securing. I also have to make a specific comment regarding the owner/manufacturer of Arrow splints. When I replied to his query about how I liked the splint, he was very receptive to suggestions, and eager to make the best product possible. In my experience with this splint, it does exactly what it is supposed to do, has great features (with some improvements possible), and is MUCH more reasonably priced than splints from the "big name" orthotic companies.

Great product
This splint has helped the painful locking of my distal thumb joint immensely. I have been sleeping in it and wearing it as much as I can during the day. I work with a computer eight hours a day so I canโt wear it and work, but the problem with my thumb has improved greatly. It also seems to have helped the carpal tunnel syndrome I have in my wrist. I am really glad I made this purchase. It is really pretty comfortable and I donโt mind wearing it at all.

Comfortable and good thumb position
Best thumb splint I've tried so far. Bought this for suspected skier's thumb or maybe de quer vains syndrome (don't have insurance to confirm which). I have tried many of the full wrist/thumb braces that are bulky, uncomfortable and don't hold my thumb in the right position. This brace however comfortably holds my thumb and isn't too bulky. Also, the one strap for the thumb is probably enough by itself, but I wrapped it for the extra peace of mind. My only complaint is that it is advertised as one size fits all. If you have small hands/wrists, this is perfect in every way, but I can't recommend it for a larger size. My hand/wrist are about average, and my husband had to pull the straps out of the loops and stretch the elastic fabric for me to fit my hand in without any pain. It fits my wrist perfectly, its just the struggle of needing someone's help to get my hand through to put it on that makes it lose one star. I also want to note that the fabric is breathable, and it seems well made overall. I don't expect it to have issues with wear and tear, but we will see. I'll update this review if I do.

Not what I expected
This is a very nice made & well thought out item. As a woman who has had severe, job-induced injury to both of my hands/wrists due to extensive (pre-ergonomic 1990s) computer work, I am currently dealing with a big flare-up of both my wrists/hands. Much more so with my left hand. Although I am right-handed. I have had what is referred to as carpel tunnel release surgery in the mid-2000s which resulted in somewhat mixed results. I went in search of something that would isolate my thumb & provide support to my wrist while I await a doctor's appointment. When my thumb moves away from my hand or my wrist bends, I am experiencing extreme & very sharp & stabbing pain. I was drawn to this item because it seemed to address my 2 essential needs. Isolation & support of my left thumb & wrist. Which it does. Unfortunately, given that my issue is extreme pain when my thumb moves away from the rest of my hand and/or my wrist bends, it only solves one of those problems. It should go without saying that when my thumb moves away from the rest of my hand or the rest of my hand moves away from my thumb results in the same stabbing pain. I don't necessarily believe that this is the fault of the brace. I believe that it is more the issue of my type of injury. So. I'm returning this item & will go in search of one that is more suitable to what I have going on. While I wait for my doctor appointment. Sheesh.

A great brace for a great price!!!
There were so many braces to choose from, but I chose this one due to some of the testimonials. And I'm grateful I chose this one because it's working to heal my thumb very well. It is not bulky, so you can still use your hand for most things while wearing the brace, yet it keeps your thumb isolated so the injury and discomfort can heal. I highly recommend this brace if you have a sprained thumb or trigger finger...I've only been wearing it about 5 days, but I can tell a huge difference in how fast my thumb is healing. $20 is much more preferable than surgery, and it was delivered very quickly.

It helps heal strained tendons/muscles in your thumb.
I strained my right thumb months ago and it just kept getting worse. I am right handed and found that almost everything I did hurt. I tried stretching it occasionally during the day but nothing helped. I got hand exercises from the internet. The site recommended a thumb brace to be worn at night. I found this one and after just 6 nights, I have noticed an improvement in the pain. This will take time, probably weeks for the strained tendon to get better, but I intend to continue to wear this brace at night. It is comfortable, with adjustable Velcro straps. The material provides support without a bulky feel. If I wear this one out and I need another, Iโll purchase this one again.

Thumb Brace Stabilizer for Tendonitis, Sprain or Carpal Tunnel
I decided to try thumb brace because I had severe tendonitis in my thumb & it was very painful. I had tried so many other splints and braces to no avail. I wore it day and night for weeks and still wear it now and then throughout the day and night to make sure I don't re-injure my thumb or over abuse it. I'm glad to say the pain has subsided substantially and movement is way better. I'm so glad I purchased this brace because it really helped me to get better. Even when I wore it I still had good movability with my fingers & was able to do other things with it on. I obviously took it off when dealing with water. I would highly recommend it, just make sure you use it.

Hands to small? Not enough support?
The reviews says this is good for small hands. I cannot say I agree with that. I don't have overly small hands but this is still to big to properly support my thumb. It will work better then having nothing but I wish it had a bit more adjustment to it. I have long fingers but apparently a short thumb? I can't say it looks like that but according to the brace that is what it would seem. Also, it states it's good for carpal tunnel, that I can't imagine to be true even if I had bigger hands. To properly support carpal Tunnel, it needs to stabilize your wrist into the straight position, this does not have wrist support. My wrist falls no matter how tight I have it. The wrist strap part is far to small to cover any area big enough to provide support. I wish they would of combine the structure of a carpal Tunnel brace in the sense it covers more of the hand, and then made the velcro on the thumb movable.
