Good review of important retaining wall engineering considerations.

Good coverage - covers the math and the shortcuts.

The book was good, IF you are a college student studying Structural Engineering. More of a Textbook. Not for the average DIY-ers, unless you understand engineering mathmatics.

Very useful and practical book for practicing engineers. Gets into the concrete design which many texts lack.

The book is a pretty good reference but it has an unbelievable number of errors, typos and just plain calculation mistakes. Some code references are not updated to what is shown in the "Reference Bibliography", e.g. what should be from ACI 318-14 is really from the older code, 2009 or 2011. If you try to follow step by step solutions in design examples it is a guarantee you will stumble upon some number or equation that is hard to figure out where it originated from. It is almost as if this book did not have any quality check or was done without a thorough cross referencing with all the codes and textbook material. Another explanation is that the book was made hard to follow on purpose so you buy the software instead of doing manual calculations. One good thing about this book is that you learn by catching errors and mistakes doing your own calculations and research.
