Interactive, durable, and fun
The LeapFrog Chat and Count Emoji Phone is a favorite with my toddler! It’s fun, interactive, and teaches counting and number recognition in a playful way. The animations and emoji buttons keep my child engaged. My toddlers been playing with it when they were 1 year old and still does for every car ride now at 2 years old. Highly recommend for any parent seeking a simple toy that transcends baby into toddlerhood.

Great toy for the little ones!
Got this as a gift for my daughter and she loves it! It’s a sturdy, quality made toy. It will hold up to the rabid abuse a baby or toddler will put it through, no prob! So far, the battery life is decent, but it’s more based on the brand you use more than anything. The functions are useful with some language learning, songs and other fun phrases! Sound quality is really clear and nice as well!

Great for my 9 month old!
I bought this for my 9 month old daughter, because she loves to take my phone and then throw the biggest fit of her life when I take it back lol. She is obsessed with this toy! Easy for her to press the buttons and it’s light enough for her to pick it up and play around with. Bonus that it’s purple like my phone too lol.

Perfect for a 2 year old
I bought this a month ago for Christmas and so far it is a great toy. My daughter loves seeing the screen move and likes to count. She is 2 years old and is about as nice as a 2 year old can be when it comes to toys. With that said I think the phone will last a good while.Cons: the front of the phone does get scratched up right away and it did arrive with a couple small light scratches. The conversations the phone has, which I guess is supposed to be kind of like a phone call, are very short and boring. It took me a while to realize that it was supposed to be the phone conversations. One went something like this: I played with a ball all day and now I am tired, good night. (Makes snoring noise)Although the songs are fine, I wish they played a one or two simple nursery rhymes. When it counts he doesn’t count with you. Let me explain. You press (my daughter's favorite) the number 4. It has the number 4 on the screen and says “four” then it shows 4 apples in a tree on the screen and says “four apples”. Then the dog comes and slowly eats each apple and it goes back to the original screen with just the dog. I wish every time the dog ate an apple he counted, up to 4.Pros: uses battery and doesn’t charge (last phone that did died not even after a year)Has press able buttons that are easy to pressHas a screen with a moving object that talks and shows numbersHas an emoji button that you can press any time that sends out a random emoji on the screen. My daughter loves this.Goes into sleep mode after a short time saving battery life. It will sit there waiting for you for a couple seconds and then the phone will ring. If you don’t touch anything it sleeps.Has volume control. I LOVE this. It has two options, quiet and loud. Neither are too quiet or loud. But now I don’t have to worry about my daughter putting the phone by her ear. The noise is from the back of the phone and not the side or bottom which I like too.The games are easy and simple. The one my daughter plays and likes is the one where you hit the correct number. It lights up the right one so it is perfect for my 2 year old.Last but not least my daughter thinks of the phone like a phone and does talk on it which is what I really wanted. She used to grab my phone but now has her own.

Great toy for a curious child
I love this little phone. I spent a lot of time looking for the right toy for my daughter. The "toy" part was important. She became interested in the adult's phones and we were not comfortable letting her play with them. I wanted to get her her own phone that was age appropriate. What I like about this phone is that it is more like a game than a smartphone phone. Other phones have a "touch screen" and look like a smartphone. It's like grooming to get your child hooked to a screen. The other phones I found didn't do anything productive, just lit up and made obnoxious noise. This one is adorable, not at all annoying. My baby loves the "doggy" that pops up on screen. She loves the counting. The music button is her favorite as it sings little tunes and plays songs she knows like "If you're happy and you know it". The screen is very reminiscent of a Tamagatchi pet, much different than the apps kids are stuck on today. If you value letting kids be kids but also keeping them in touch with the modern world this toy is a good blend. This toy is well built and durable. My daughter has already chewed on it and nothing happened. The buttons were a little hard for her to push at first. She's just now getting the hang of deliberately pushing them. Before that it was whichever happened to get pushed or whichever I pushed for her. Because if that I rated it 4/5 stars for touchscreen but this was not something we valued in a toy. She plays with it so it works!
