It bends very quickly, very weak.

This is a very tiny shovel...but on the positive side very compact and therefore very useful. It collapses and folds into a tiny bag, which is fine for when you go camping and space is a big issue. I actually quite like the multi-facets of use of this little item. When I opened the package in which it came, I actually accidentally cut into the bag in which the item was disassembled, so a person has to be careful in opening same plastic package. I sewed up the tear though, so no problem at all. A very handy small item. (Not meant as a huge shovel for digging big holes.)

I cut the shovel blade to get rid of the silly serrated edge & can opener thing so now it's a bit slimmer it is less likely to break as its a smaller surface area being levered on in the ground.The pick end works well to soften around plants & the shovel does the rest...On a survival course it was very handy digging burdock roots (large deep root) & I got a St. John's wart plant with its roots in clay still out without breaking the shovel.its not a solid one I know as I have the gelert one too which is much heavier & will defiantly last but this one is a very light very handy tool & it has not failed me although it's suffered a bit..I'll prob replace the bolt holding the head on as that doesn't look strong but it's not broken yet...Compass is useless...it's a nice little shovel & im sure my girlfriend has her eyes on it...(herbalist)Oh the carry case is rubbish..The gelert one is about £10 & is much heavier build quality but it's almost twice the weight...I have both & this little one has not let me down.

I bought this 2 years ago and had occasion to finally use it last week. It was a decent shovel for what I required however when I went to unscrew the head but which holds the shovel or pick in place it jammed completely. I couldn’t fix it, tried some wd40 to no avail. I used a hammer to break the plastic which can be seen in the attached photo and am disappointed a shovel used for camping could be so easily broken. I wouldn’t recommend based on this experience.

Although a lot of the previous buyers have said they wouldn't recommend this military folding shovel, I cannot agree. I think it is ideal for small jobs, as long as it isn't used for too big a job. I couldn't be more happy with it, for using in the car in emergencies. It will be perfect for clearing snow from around the tyres if needed and for digging a way forward in deep snow. I also need it for gritting the road near my home as it's a very handy size to carry small amounts of salt/grit.The lock nut at the pivot head keeps the head at the correct angle, either at 90 degrees or 180 degrees, depending on the need and the extended handle screws into place, making it an immovable seal. The compass inside the handle, although it works fine, is probably a bit pointless for most people, but I'm happy with it for whenever I'm out on the moors or other places, taking photographs.I think, for the price, this little, fold-away-in-a-bag multi-function shovel will be very good at the right time and is great value for money.

Whilst this is probably my fault for not looking at the dimensions, this is FAR too small for ANY practical use....It seems well built and sturdy enough, but smaller than my hand and when fully assembled and extended, shorter than my forearm... at this size and weight the pick will be useless. I was hoping for a spade to clear out my fire ashes after camping but this won't work.Also the compass in the handle is a gimmick... no-one is EVER going to be checking which way north is while digging a hole, it seems that after "Rambo First Blood", putting a compass in the end of any sort of handle is mandatory.Cute little spade, but I shall be giving this to my son next time we go to the beach (in fact I think some of his plastic sand castle spades are bigger than this!!)Also advertised as "Military", never saw anything like this during my time in the service... must have been a special issue item for Action Man !! ;-)

I liked the item because it was just what I was looking for and it has different bits on it to use aswell .

C'est parfait pour un sapeur. Pas mal pour enterer la hache de guerre ou encore notre gouvernement de nos jours. Reste simple et efficace attention cela reste du métal fin ou du cochonium.

The media could not be loaded.  Der Spaten ist klein,handlich kann an einem Gürtel befestigt werden usw.. und daher Ideal für unterwegs.Er wird in einer gut Verarbeiteten Nylon Tasche geliefert.Die Nylon Tasche hat eine Gürtelschlaufe sowie auch eine weitere Schlaufe zum Aufhängen,Einhängen..An der Oberseite ein Reißverschluss.Der Spaten selbst ist im vorderen Gelenk aufklappbar und mittels Gewindegriff einfach und schnell zusammengebaut. Der Spaten komplett aus Metall.Ein Kunststoffgriff mit gutem Grip ist aufgebracht.Zum fixieren der Schaufel wird im Vorderbereich eine Metallscheibe mit einem Kunststoff Feststellring fixiert.Der Spaten hat eine Gesamtlänge von knapp 30cm. Die Spannweite von Pick bis zu Schaufel beträgt ca. 27cm.Die Schaufel selbst mit einer Legierung versehen und für leichte arbeiten und als schnelles Hilfswerkzeug für unterwegs mehr als brauchbar.Natürlich darf man sich hier jetzt keinen Spaten erwarten wo man größere Löcher ausheben kann oder harte Böden mit Steinen,Eispicken usw... Dafür ist er sicher zu unterdimensioniert gefertigt.Für den schnellen Einsatz unterwegs ist er aber sehr gut geeignet. Zb beim Wandern oder im kleinen Heimgarten für Beete und co..Der Spaten besitzt einige Funktionen. Zum einen seitlich eine Säge. Damit kann man kleinere Äste durchsägen. Gegenüber einen Flaschenöffner. Mit dem Pick kann man zb die Erde etwas auflockern oder auch kleine Gesteinsbrocken aushebeln.An der Unterseite des Stiels ist dann auch noch ein Kompass aufgebracht.Das Gesamtgewicht beträgt knapp 500g.Fazit: Ein toller Spaten mit einigen Funktionen. Wegen der kompakten Größe und des geringen Gewichts, ideal für unterwegs.Alles in allem kann ich den Spaten nur weiter empfehlen. Die teilweise hier beschriebenen Brüchigen Teile, kann ich bisher zum Glück nicht bestätigen. Den noch ist sicherlich die Kunststofffixierung im vorderen Bereich die größte Schwachstelle des Spatens.

Muy mal, cuando aprietas la tuerca para poder usar el pico y la pala a la vez, no hace presión y se suelta, me hice daño en la mano cuando piqué la primera vez. No lo recomiendo. Aparte la funda al abrir la cremallera para sacar el producto, esta salió y la funda no sirve para nada ya. Claramente un producto de ali express vendido por Amazon más caro.

Die Rezension kann kurz gehalten werden. Beim ersten versuch den Spaten mit Gefühl in eine Wiese zu stechen ist das Blatt total verbogen. Ohne Steine oder Wurzeln. Einfach genau das wert was er kostet. Wäre er etwas teurer gewesen hätte ich ihn zurück geschickt. Ihn einfach zu entsorgen und einen vernünfitgen zu kaufen ist für die Umwelt in diesem Fall aber wahrscheinlich sinnvoller.
