Excellent. Informative, life-changing.
Think of this less as a diet, and more as a metabolic reset. Really goes into the science of how your body reacts to food, and eating, and gets you into great eating habits. You lose a ton of weight, but that's not the main point: it's to re-set how and what you eat, and get your body to work the way it should.

Finally, a sustainable, sensible way to lose weight!
Five years ago, I lost over 20 pounds due to cancer and chemotherapy. In addition, I also went through surgical menopause. With hormonal changes, hair loss and other side effects from the drugs I had to take, my body went through quite a battle. After I started recovering, I couldn't stop the gaining weight. No matter what I did--low carbs, added exercise, intermittent fasting, calorie restriction, protein shakes, etc.--nothing worked. After menopause, the old reliable ways to shed pounds no longer sufficed. I became frustrated to the point of tears. I was eating healthy and exercising but still felt bloated and fat. I saw an article about the Human Being Diet in a British magazine and it seemed worth a try. It changed my life! By the end of phase 2, I had lost 12 pounds. I'm now in phase 3 and have lost a total of 17 pounds. I don't have sugar cravings, but I do still yearn for the odd cappuccino and cream/foam in my coffee : ) The diet is very simple to follow and I feel I will be able to incorporate and sustain the changes to my diet long term. Thank you, Petronella! I'm so thankful for your well-researched, healthy, sensible approach.

This book was the key to my 25 pound weight loss... so far
I'm turning 60 this December and I finally have learned how to feed myself thanks to Petronella's book. The Human Being Diet taught me how to eat a healthy diet that keeps me satisfied, feeling fantastic, sleeping better and allows for a weekly treat meal when I can eat anything. She teaches the science behind a healthy metabolism and focuses on a 2 week program reset followed by a lifetime program. It works and it is simple and sustainable. This book is about living a full life with a healthy relationship to food. I'm a 59 year old woman who slowly put on weight over the past 25+years. My weight gain was gradual, a pound or two a year, but a pound or two a year for 25 years and I went from 125 pounds to 165 pounds. I eat healthily, mostly organic, low carb, high protein, low sugar, little alcohol. I lift weights 4 times a week, do pilates 5 times a week, cycle or swim 5 times a week. I'm in excellent shape... except for the extra weight. I've lost 25 pounds since January, 2020 and the weight is still coming off. I feel and look so much better. Thank you, Petronella!

The HBD Diet
When I purchased this book, I found it by googling "diets for hard to lose weight people" and this came up. I want to start off by saying that I was at my wits end trying to lose weight. I know I haven't tried every diet out there, but I feel like it's pretty close. After ordering the book and reading it, I put it down and said I can't do this. It's just too hard and restrictive and all the RULES! But on March 1, 2024, I made up my mind that I was going to give it a go. I may not make the first two phases, but I'm going to do my best. That was 85 days ago and I'm still doing it! I am down 20.2 pounds, but that's not the best part. Well maybe it is! I have to say I feel fantastic. Not because of the weight loss, but because I have gotten my gut in the best shape it has been in for years. My body doesn't hurt all over and I did it all natural. I plan to stay with Phase 3 for at least 10 more pounds and maybe even more! This has been the lift I've needed for a long time. Every other plan I have tried I could lose a few pounds at first to only start inching my way back UP without fail and not breaking the plan. It was so frustrating and discouraging. This program has not been that way - I've only seen two gains and they were only .4 and .2 lbs. So, I just kept saying to myself "TRUST THE PROCESS!" and moved on. It is working. If you have health issues and have trouble losing weight like I do, go ahead, order this book, read it and following it. I promise it will make you feel better than you have in years! The best lifestyle change
This book is a very good, easy read and explains the science behind this type of diet. My energy is through the roof and it is very easy to follow and refer back to. Love this program!

Good Information but difficult to comply
This is a good book and guide but to avoid eating all that the author recommends one would have to live on another planet. It is not feasible to comply with all the restrictions of dietary requirements. There are so many other guides to better eating than this one. Going to a restaurant one will surely get many of the no-no's in this book .

The only diet that actually works!
I bought this book after seeing a Facebook group of supportive people. I have done Keto for 10 years and the scale just yo-yod and my cholesterol was insane. Never did balance out. I bought the Human Being Diet and started the 3 month program in January 30. I lost 30 pounds. I have not been this thin since my 30's. I'm 55 now. I literally get compliments daily and changed my life! Even when I indulge on vacation, I just get right back on the plans and in three days I'm back down to my thin weight. Petronella supports you on Instagram and is genuinely concerned about the health of her followers. People! Buy this book! If you follow this plan. I promise you will feel so much better and the side effect is that you will drop tons of weight. I don't know anyone that hasn't. The best health book you will ever buy! Cheers!
