I already had a matt black version that I hadn't been using much but when I went to buy another Olight i3t I first went through some of my other lights to see if they would be better and my Rider came out top for a small light. I also have the Pokelit but the moonlight mode on that is terrible and there is no low mode at all! With the Rider the moonlight mode is useably brighter than the useless Pokelit moonlight and the Rider low mode is equally helpful to have whereas there is NONE with the Pokelit so I can only assume they made the Pokelit worse to keep the Rider the more expensive of the two. I now have this Blue model in the Rider (bought 2 while on offer) and I must say the finish looks very impressive so maybe my first foray for me into slightly higher end finish lights. So I just gave it 5 stars as nothing much to complain about. My black Rider got hot in the beginning but I think it has settled down now and isn't a problem so perhaps there is a little burn in at the beginning. I also have a Sofirn SP10, i5R's and plus model. Trustfire l2, Nicron B74, Tool AA's all in 14500 but I think this Rider is the most all-round useful as it takes a standard AA nicely and 4 nice evenly spread power levels and the neutral white 219F is a good led. Glad I have 3 now and a little less glad that I also have 3 Pokelit which has a similar mid and high level output to the rider but if you need good lower modes and better operation with a standard or nimh AA then the Rider I would say is the one to go for plus there are some lovely finishes like this blue version which looks like glossy blue enamel on the stainless steel outer body. Probably some kind of enamel paint so a very flash flashlight which should have been the title of this review really.

Bought this because I wanted a blue edc light to match my knife. I took the outer “fidget” shell off because it’s kinda pointless. The light itself is easy to use, looks great, has solid build quality and is the perfect edc size. Gets very bright if needed, is rechargeable or can take a AA battery. One of the best small lights for the price imo.

This review evaluates the “Rider RX 700 Lumens Rechargeable EDC Pocket LED Flashlight” made by CEBEAM. The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging and all components were contained snugly in the box. What’s in the box: one (1) 700-lumen USB-C rechargeable LED tactical flashlight, one (1) 920mAh lithium-ion USB-C rechargeable battery, one (1) USB-C to USB-A charging cord, two (2) spare rubber O-rings, one (1) wrist lanyard, and an owner’s manual. First impressions: This flashlight hits way above its class in an extremely compact form factor. First of all the flashlight disappears in a pair of large hands being 5/8” in diameter by 4” in length (product literature in the ad is incorrect at 1.02” x 3.78”) – it is extremely small yet fits comfortably in your hand. The housing comprises two parts: an inner machined thick AL-6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy body surrounded by a machined titanium outer shield. There is a very small gap between the outer shield and inner core which allows for heat dissipation and makes the unit comfortable to hold after extended operation. The unit is attractively coloured with the inner core being anodized blue and the outer shield being gray titanium. On the outer titanium shield, there is a stainless steel clip which is handy for holding the flashlight to your pocket or the brim of your baseball hat for hands-free work. The outer shield extends and retracts to protect the rubber end cap switch from being activated. This flashlight uses a rubberized waterproof push button function switch located on the end cap of the housing that navigates through four (4) lighting modes (H/M/L, Ultra-Low) using short-press and ON/OFF using a long press. The flashlight remembers the last light brightness setting used when turned on again. The business end of the flashlight contains one high-powered 519A-V1 LED 90+ High CRI 5,000K LED module. The flashlight has a fixed broad conical beam of light with an impressive effective reach of approximately 320 ft (101m). The flashlight uses a 3.7V 920mAh 14500 lithium-ion battery (AA size form factor) that is USB-C rechargeable by removing the battery from the housing and plugging the charging cable into a USB-C connector built into the battery. The battery has up to an hour of runtime on high power and takes about 45-60 minutes to fully charge. On the top of the battery is an LED indicator light, flashing RED for charging and solid green for fully charged status. This one really surprised me. I test a lot of flashlights and initially thought I bet this one is a flimsy over-marketed gimmick – nothing could be further from the truth! I first tested the flashlight outside on a dark rural Northern Ontario night and let me tell you – very bright doesn’t begin to describe the 700-lumen (claimed) output of light… It’s like staring at the sun (never stare at a high-output light like this you will permanently damage your eyesight!). This flashlight packs a mighty punch for its size producing a wide cone of light that illuminated the bush and surrounding area like it was broad daylight. However, many flashlights are overstating their lumen output to capture sales. This light is very bright and actually grossly understated its maximum output, which was closer to 8,328 lumens on the highest setting as measured by my LUX meter (at zero distance, the further away you go the LUX intensity drops). At about 10 feet away the lumen output is still higher than advertised. ProTip: You can also use this flashlight with a standard 1.5V, 2,850mAh “AA” alkaline battery in an emergency and still get about 1/3 of the light output. My LUX meter measured the light intensity as 3,052 lumens, impressive indeed. The only thing I did not like was the short/long press feature to switch modes; unlike a lot of other flashlights that use such a feature, I found this flashlight hard to cycle the modes. Regardless, I generally use my flashlights only on the highest setting. Also, I think the modes should include an “SOS” beacon instead of a LOW or ULTRA LOW since it generally is a tactical or emergency flashlight. The flashlight is rated IP68 rated which by international standards means that for whatever its purpose or intended market, it can resist exposure to dust and withstand up to 30 minutes of submersion in water up to 60 inches (or 1.5 meters) in depth. I did not water test this product because to do it effectively I would have to test it in an outdoor environment for no less than 8 -12 months but it looks like it will survive normal use outdoors. I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program so I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. Only time will tell if this flashlight has similar longevity and effective service life as other competitive products on the market. Therefore, I am going to monitor this product over the next 8-12 months of use and revise my review should problems arise. Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall I am very impressed with the product; it is ultra-compact, extremely bright, and very well-made. At a current price of $72.99, I feel this flashlight is very competitively priced when compared to other similar high-end tactical products in this class. In summary: the “Rider RX 700 Lumens Rechargeable EDC Pocket LED Flashlight” made by CEBEAM is made of high-quality materials, is compact, and is very bright. Whatever you need to light up in front of you or at the end of the road – this flashlight has got you covered! I would recommend this product without reservation. Loved the look and features of the light. Its sleek and was the perfect gift for my sister. Has all of the nerdy flashlight features with a easy to carry and sleek case. If i had to pick one flashlight forever, it is missing a few features that I prefer like 2 way clip and right angle but its pretty high up there for me.
