I had this piece of jewelry bought on a favorite trip that we’d planned for more than ten years. It meant so much to me, but over time it began to tarnish, but no amount of silver polish helped. I’d long ago given up and sadly placed the pendant in a jewelry box for memory sake. Recently I’d decided to see what it would cost to have it re-plated, and found this product. I took a gamble on this and WOW did it do wonders! My favorite piece is now restored, shiny as new. It does not work on cheap metals—tried it on an old costume jewelry piece and it actually removed silver coloring off of it. Seems to work well on copper though—worked wonders on a penny. The giveaway that it’s going to work is that the beige liquid will turn black, and start to thicken up—even dry a bit. There’s zero reaction on cheap metals, but on copper and brass I get an instant reaction. Doesn’t take much, a little goes a long way. I’ve now applied several layers to my pendant and have a lovely patina.

This WORKS. Definitely wear gloves, my finger are pretty stained, but it works well and very quickly! I saved some worn silver plated necklaces and a couple fashion rings I adored. A bit pricey, but well worth it!!

Easy use of item and fast use but easy to spill but good item

This works so incredibly well! I bought a silver plated chandelier from a famous NH landmark. Beautiful as it was, it had tarnished to black - and there were areas where the plating was gone that were just copper. The cleaning of the black tarnish was actually much more work than the replating of the silver over the copper areas. When I was done there was absolutely no evidence that it had ever been damaged.

I couldn't wait to get this product as I tend to lose jewelry so I buy cheap but pretty stuff. When some of my stuff started showing it's copper element, I found this. It's very easy to use, however, it doesn't really last that long. In fact, there are several items that I needed to repeat the process but it's really no biggie because it really only takes about 10 minutes to do about 3 or so rings at a time. Only because of my carpal tunnel that I can't do more. But I do recommend this product as a fake silver cleaner and will be buying it again. But a little goes a long way so don't know when that will be. Oh, and make sure you use a cloth you won't use for other purposes. The black stains will lesten in the wash but I wouldn't wash anything else but other rags with it.

This stuff is GREAT!. It took a 60 year old judging trophy from dingy and spotty to looking nearly new. It not only covered the areas where silver had been rubbed off but also polished the entire trophy. Wife also had some antique candlesticks and it worked well there as well. Requires a bit of elbow grease. Used a toothbrush to get into the details. Well worth the price.

Sure it says silver plating solution... but even electroplating takes several minutes. Don't expect this product to put a thick solid silver surface in one application. Even with a half dozen applications to raw brass I still have a long way to go. Smaller imperfections are covered faster. As it goes as a polish, it has worked wonders. Where a regular polish cloth failed, this product worked did the trick. The valve stems were black. Polish cloth wouldn't touch them. Repeatedly applied and polished with this product and buffed them up nicely.(wish I had photo before). This is a good silver cleaner and minor plate repair. Not a replacement for a buffing wheel and electroplating!

It works on pure copper. Not sure how durable it is because what I tried to plate wasnt pure enough copper. It did work on a copper coin.

The product works really well, it gives a nice finish. The plating is quite shallow, but it does take on multiple coats to build up the plating thickness. One key step though is preparation, you do have to use it on well polished, and absolutely free of any contaminants surfaces, grease or dirt. It’s the rubbing action that deposits the silver so a good amount of rubbing is mandatory. And you want to wear gloves.

J'avais enlevé le placage argent par inadvertance en essayant de "nettoyer" mes bijoux avec du vinaigre + bicarbonate de soude (plus jamais !). Mes bijoux étaient noirs et ont retrouvé leur apparence originelle grâce à ce produit. Regardez les photos qui parlent pour elles-mêmes.
