These are really cool! (no pun intended...) I don't burn candles much, but I use them to light candles and my fireplace and they work fine on the candles, newspaper and fire starters. They are rechargeable (via USB) and I've used them all winter so far on only one charge. Now I don't have to keep buying the lighters that run on fuel.

I love these arc lighters. I own a flameworking studio where students need to light a propane bench burner. We’ve used the old-fashioned flint strikers for years, but they are cumbersome and difficult for many people to use. These rechargeable arc lighters are perfect. They’re easy to use and light our torches like magic. They’re safe, elegantly designed, and don’t contain anything, like butane, that might catch on fire. I liked them so much, I ordered another 3.

These work great. For people unsure if a "little spark" won't work as well as a fire lighter they are plain wrong. These have infinite fuel basically by charging them and are super light weight. They can light anything on fire that a lighter can but much safer and more precise. There's no butane/ chemical fuel under pressure or flint to explode, just a battery and an arc of electricity. They work when bent at beyond 90º angles and work great for candles or starting fireplace/campfire kindling. And you can charge them easily with USB-C. Great length for reaching almost done candles etc. These have 2 safety mechanisms. First one is a physical switch you have to press up or down for it to turn on at all or stay off when you press the ignition button. The second safety is when it's emitting electricity by pressing and holding the "on" button, it will automatically turn off by itself after 8 or 10 seconds. So if you have it packed up with the safety off and it somehow turned on, it will automatically turn off on its own. It does it's job properly. After a full charge it lasts a very long time. Great alternative to combustion fire, more economical, more eco friendly. Great product.

Won't light a cigarette, but lights a candle perfectly.

I love these so much! I feel like Dr Frankenstein when I turn this on and the power-arc lights up between the two metal prongs - then - touch it to a wick and *POOF* 🔥 —fire! My candle! It’s alive! These are a bazillionX better than the dollar store, butene-filled, plastic stick lighters I’ve been using. The charge seems to last endlessly so far. (Bonus that a charge cord was included, by the way.) This lights reliably and safely - I’ve used it indoors and outside w/o losing the “flame” (which isn’t a flame at all). I don’t worry that it will break or leak because it’s not a one-dollar unpredictable plastic flame thrower. I’m pretty excited about having a lighter that feels like it will just work as expected all the time. Cons? You will NOT look rad waving this above your head at a concert. (We’re not allowed to do that anymore anyway. It’s not the 90’s) Note: this review is unpaid, unbiased and I bought this product with my own funds. I love it. It’s awesome. That’s why I gave it 5-stars. Reviews and recommendations from real human peeps, like moi, are valuable when there’s so much baloney to wade through. I hope my 2-cents helps even if pennies are going extinct.

Lightweight and so useful. I bought one a year ago and love it. So…I ordered two more. Like always, so happy with my purchase from Amazon.
