Fits perfectly.
I had one that had a small ring for a leash. She got her toenails cought in the ring. That wasn’t the worst of the problem, I couldn’t get her collar off. I had to pull her toenails out of the ring too stop her from squealing. I have not had a problem with it.

Love the “badge ring”
Every collar should have a badge ring. Your finally able to hang the rabies tag and have it hang the correct way. As he grows I will continue to buy this collar.

Padded collar is better than the basic collar
I previously reviewed the "basic version" of this collar. I thought I ordered the padded collar, so I was a bit taken aback when thecollar arrived and it wasn't padded or lined. My error because I ordered the plain collar. I ordered a small to replace a really cheap collar on my 4 month old Nigerian Dwarf goat. It is made much better than the one I threw out. It is made well enough for a small dog, but whether it will stand up to a 25 pound goatling will remain to be seen. Of note: the D ring for tags is not solid or soldered closed so if tags snagged something, this D ring could easily be bent open and you could loose your tags. The D ring for the leash attachment appears to be soldered at the joint but the joint is very clear, so if larger collars use the same D Ring, I would use caution using these collars on larger dogs. I suggest someone who has ordered a large collar, hang it from a garage beam and attached 30 to 40 lbs of wieght to the D ring and tug on it really hard. I don't think it is strong enough to hold a large dog. The nylon strapping is the thinnersort, not the heavier thickness you might find on big dog collars and horse harnesses. Adjusted down to the smallest size, it isslightly too large for my goat, but should fit him in a few weeks. It is not heavy duty "farm dog" wear, but it is on par and about thesame price range as a similar collar in a commercial pet supply store. I will be looking for one with heavier hardware. At the insistence of my daughter, reordered the padded version of the collar in the same size. It has the same hardware. I am upgrading my review to 5 stars because I believe the padded version is on par with what you might find for the same price at a regular pet store. But the star is really because compared to a lower end collar in size small, this collar is wider than a small size from a department store or a pet store. This is important for 2 reasons: #1 we have a smaller corgi. Her neck is a little small for a medium size collar but a lot of the size small collars are made of thinner webbing and are not appropriate for our dog ( she is a "medium" size dog with short legs) This padded version in size small fits her perfectly when fully extended, with no excess webbing left. The padding makes it more comfortable. #2 we could not use a 1/4 in wide collar on our goat because there was too much chance he could injure himself, so this smaller collar with the wider webbing is more appropriate.Update: after using tie out line on one of the goats, two or three times, the last time they were able to snap the prongs on the buckle and get out of the collar. So if you have very strong dog that wears this kind of collar, you might want to think twice about hooking him to a tie out using this collar.

A Great Collar
Now I would just like to say that in the United States service dogs do not have to be labeled as such, however labeling your service dog can help with avoiding access issues. Additionally, misrepresenting an emotional support animal or a pet as a service dog in public is technically a misdemeanor and puts genuine task trained service dogs and their handlers in danger. Now I say this because I got the Crimson collar with the Service Dog text with the neoprene padding. I absolutely love this collar for my service dog because he has a long thick coat and gets hot in his vest and harnesses especially in the summer. Now to combat this I usually put on a tactical collar with a patch but those can be a bit heavy and intimidating to the public, since they might mistake him for a military or police K9. This collar is lightweight and its vibrant color catches people’s attention without worrying them. The reflective stitching also gives me some peace of mind when he runs around outside when the sun goes down since I can spot him easier with a flashlight. The D ring is welded which is a huge plus with the neoprene so if your dog pulls for any reason the D ring is less likely to split open and the neoprene adds some cushion to your dogs neck. The collar also has a smaller D ring off to the side that you can put your dog’s tags onto so they don’t get in the way of your leash clip and minimize the sound they make. As of now the lettering seems to be holding up well despite being screened or printed on instead of embroidered, which is a pleasant surprise given the price point. My only complaint is the lack of color selection when it comes to the collars with text. I would love to get another one of collars if they come out with orange or teal with the service dog text to match his leashes.Overall this is a very high quality collar given the price point.
