The carbide wheels are too brittle and the handles are too short for the leverage you would need. I would recommend The Montolit Mosaic Glass & Tile nipper as they are tough enough for shaping marble, high fired porcelain and gentle enough for glass. I tried the cheaper ones and they were horrible. They required too much pressure and often just shattered the glass.This Leponitti tool is fantastic. Cutting glass is quick and easy. I haven't used them on tile but I had some beautiful glass that was in large pieces. I didn't want to ruin it and I am so glad I waited until I had this tool.
