Still Overprice But Initial Disappointment Gave Way As Respect For the Unique Perspective Grew
I hope the stories are interesting.....I will amend this review when I finish them but right now I have a lot of reading to do so this may take a while...So, what's my beef......Almost $14 for a 218 page paperback......which is what the product description stated...BUT, the print size is at least double the norm for books.......big letters, big spacing, small page size....The reality is that in terms of virtually any other book in the Dune World, this book is barely 100 pages long.THOSE STORIES HAD BETTER BE GOOD....REALLY GOOD.....This is not quite false advertising but it is deceptive.

Great Collection of Dune Short Stories!
This book contains many of the short stories from the Dune Universe. It is a great supplement to the novels written Dune by Frank Herbert and his son, Brian Herbert, partnering with Kevin J. Anderson.Great job, guys!

Repeats
Some of these short stories I've read within the other published volumes of the Dune story. But it never gets old.

A great DUNE story collection!
This is a very beautiful book. The cover art and stories inside make this a must have book for all long time DUNE fans. If you know a big DUNE fan, this book would make a great gift. They will be in DUNE heaven. I know I am! :-)

Good Stories
Most of the earlier stories are better in the Kevin Anderson and Brian Herbert era compared to stories during Frank era

EXTRA stories that you didn't know, or know about.
Having read almost all of the non-Frank Herbert books, it feels like these stories are old friends. It's like I've heard them before, but not quite the WHOLE story. So many threads of how future history got from here to there. Easy to read. I really like the somewhat larger format that WFP uses for its paperback publications.

Great gap filler
Some parts of the book did rehash bits of other books but it did also fill in a lot of gaps. I ordered a new book and I got a new book. So let down with my other orders

Tales of Dune: Expanded Edition (English Edition) is a collection of 8 short...
... stories which are wonderfully explaining in a few words important events from the Dune Universe. But those stories are not left-overs - but are telling a whole tale all by themselves. And often they are revealing long-ago secrets and facts from Caladan, the Butler Jihad, and Arrakis. Events that simply lacked explanations and became mysteries told for generations around the fires of the Fremen, for example...The short stories are ranging from the period of the Butlerian Jihad, to the time of young Paul Atreides, to a story set during the events of the novel Dune, to the very end of Frank Herbert’s future history. These are like some the pieces in the epic puzzle that is DUNE.Recently, with the latest movie about to be released in September 2021, I stumbled by case over this little treasure, bought it and devoured it in a night. A must-read for a longtime fan like me, was it really worth the small price and my reading time, too.

Entertaining...
…but the stories are a bit too short to my taste.

Tales of Dune: Expanded Edition
Have enjoyed the DUNE series for years; from the original six books to the extended universe of the new books. I have read the original series at least 6 times and am rereading the whole series now in chronological order to get the whole effect. Highly recommend.
