Pricey but well worth it if accuracy is important to you
This thermometer is extremely fast. The temperature appears almost immediately, easily quicker than any other model I’ve used. The cost is higher than average, but the performance makes it worthwhile. Accuracy is excellent, and the feature set is well executed. The unit turns on and off automatically when the probe is opened or closed. The screen is large, backlit, and easy to read. It also rotates automatically so the display is always oriented correctly. Build quality is very solid, and the thermometer is rated IP67 for water resistance. Overall, this feels like a top-tier kitchen thermometer. It’s expensive, but it delivers exactly what it promises.

The ultimate thermometer, genuinely
This thing is a BEAST. First and foremost, its main feature: speed. This thing reads as close to instantaneously as any thermometer possibly could. The ONE in the name is for “one second,” and I would say its read time is even faster than that. After tons of frustration with how slow cheaper thermometers were, I finally splurged on this and it was worth every penny. Besides its superb accuracy and speed, it has all the bells and whistles. Stuff I didn’t even know I wanted. It automatically powers on and off when you slide the arm away from / back into the base. It has a huge, backlit, highly readable screen. It has an internal gyroscope that automatically switches the screen to any of 4 directions so that you can read it no matter what angle you’re holding it. It’s built like a tank. It’s IP67 water resistant. This is the endgame of kitchen thermometers. It’s expensive, but it’s worth every penny and then some.

So Simple, So Smart — A Must-Have for Home Cooks
This meat thermometer has totally streamlined my cooking routine! I love that it automatically turns on the second you open it and shuts off when you close it — no buttons to mess with, no remembering to power it down. It just works, and it’s so intuitive. The readout is fast and easy to read, and I’ve found it to be super accurate — whether I’m checking chicken on the grill or a roast in the oven. The foldable design makes it compact and easy to store in my kitchen drawer without taking up extra space. It’s honestly one of those tools you don’t realize how much you’ll love until you start using it. If you’re tired of guessing doneness or overcooking just to be safe, grab this thermometer. It takes the guesswork out of everything!

Fast. Accurate. Quality.
This thermometer is touted as the go-to thermometer by many professional chefs. And it lives up to that expectation. I have a few different probe thermometers. Some were cheap, some cost more than this one. The thermopen overperforms all of them. The speed and accuracy of this tool is second to none.

The Lexus of Kitchen Thermometers
As someone who isn’t a professional chef but absolutely loves fancy tech and precise measurements, the Thermapen ONE has been a game changer for my kitchen. I appreciate tools that enhance my cooking experience rather than complicating it, and this thermometer does exactly that. It’s easy to see that this device will become a reliable kitchen companion for years to come. Unboxing the Thermapen ONE was a delight; it’s clear that the device is well-protected, with thoughtful details like a temperature guide for different types of food. It includes a thermometer calibration certificate was a pleasant surprise. I hadn’t previously considered the importance of calibration. It made me realize that my old thermometer, which I’ve used for years, might have been giving inaccurate readings all along. Oops. I decided to put the Thermapen ONE to the test by comparing it with my old thermometer using a cup of ice water. The difference was night and day—the Thermapen ONE provided a reading nearly ten times faster. Since then, I’ve used it to check the doneness of chicken, steak, and soup, and each time it has delivered swift, accurate results. It’s made cooking so much more efficient and enjoyable. The physical design of the Thermapen ONE is impressive too. It has a heftier feel compared to my old, cheaper, no-name brand thermometer, which makes it feel sturdy and durable. A really cool feature is the auto-on function—when I picked it up the second time, it instantly turned on with just a slight movement. The built-in accelerometer was an unexpected but welcome addition that makes using it even more seamless. At first glance, the Thermapen ONE’s price, which is about four times higher than my previous thermometer, might seem steep. But when I think about it, it’s really just the equivalent of a couple of backyard cookouts or a nice round of high-quality steaks. Those meals disappear quickly, but the Thermapen ONE feels like it’s built to last for many years. For the peace of mind and convenience it offers, I think it’s worth every penny. As for cons. I’m wondering if having an accelerometer will wear down the battery faster. Also, I bought one that is gray. And I’m thinking I should have bought a brighter color as the gray kind of blends in with my countertop, making it not as easy to locate in a hectic kitchen.

Excellent BBQ Thermometer!
The best BBQ thermometer on the market! Do yourself a favor and pick one of these up. The quality, accuracy, and functionality are unparalleled. I have been through a number of sub $100 "instant read" thermometers and none worked this well or even lasted beyond a few months.

Accurate/Fast-Response Thermometer
This is a very accurate, fast-reading, easy to use/clean thermometer. I'd give it a 5 star if the probe's pointed tip nested into the recessed area as it was designed but the folding probe does not fold in tight enough for the tip to remain in the recessed area, I push it in and it pops back out. This doesn't affect performance of the device but it does mean I have to carefully handle it so I don't poke my hand. In the photo, as-designed, probe-tip should rest in the recessed area so you can't poke yourself and the tip can't snag on other items in your drawer (I'm pushing on the probe to get it to seat properly, if I release hand-pressure it will go to the photo on the right). Photo on the right is as close as the tip gets to the recessed area when closed.
