BoscoMondo Solid Wood Floating Fireplace Mantel Shelf (48", Intense Black)

Easy to install and finished product looks great!

We love our new mantel, but the metal frame was bent on arrival, which made it hard to install straight over the fireplace. It was also VERY heavy, so this is a legit mantle and the grain was beautiful. But, since it was really heavy, it leaned away from the wall. We added extra braces under each side and it looks great. It's very sturdy and it adds a cozy element to our fireplace.

Solid wood! Gorgeous shelf. More than a shelf, it makes a statement! Easy to hang as long as your studs line up.

The shelf itself is solid and is well constructed; however, the hardware to hang the shelf is lacking, to put it lightly. The screws slip in and out of the wall anchors provided. When I first put all 6 anchors and screws into the wall, I had doubts it would hold, and I was correct. The self is way too heavy for the provided hardware to hold. You WILL need to have 2-points anchored into studs. Unfortunately, the area above my fireplace, the provided hidden metal hanger that the self attaches to, did not hit the 2 studs behind the fireplace, so I had to use several toggle bolts to provide enough strength to hold the metal bracket to the wall once the shelf was attached and free hanging. While I know the shelf is not going to come off the wall, I still have reservations about putting anything heavy on the shelf, as it still has a slight droop, just because the wood is a solid piece and the hanging mechanism is having trouble holding that weight. 5 stars on the quality of the wood, 1 star for the hardware provided.

This solid piece of work expertly shaped and carved out for the wall bracket is outstanding!!! I am so glad I found this versus getting a piece of plastic or fake wood, as this just looks perfect and adds so much charm to our fireplace wall. Worth the money. Worth the wait. Easy to install. Just wish I found this years ago.

We like the mantle - HOWEVER - before you put it on the wall be careful - thankfully we measured the predrilled holes to make sure they were centered - they are NOT! Had we not measured the mantel would NOT have been in the center of the wall. The holes are off by .75 inches so we had to drill the holes 3/8 of an inch to the right to make it centered on the wall. I would have been beyond pissed had we been forced to drill into the brick again. For something clearly made by machine you would think it would be more accurate. Also the hole drilled for you to screw into the rod is not remotely lined up with the rod - we had to drill our own hole to make it work. Also, one of the rods is clearly bent. We made it "work" - but this is a horribly constructed product! Do not purchase!

I paid for express delivery and when I opened it the mantel was damaged. Have to return.

I am very unhappy about this item due to long delay and faulty item.
