Best bang for your buck!
I'm absolutely happy with this little NAS! It's so powerful for this price! It's actually more powerful than what Synology offers in their $700 model! I've loved it so much I even bought another one as a gift for my friend, and he's very happy with it too. I've bought 5 Gbit USB-to-ethernet adapter from UGREEN and connected it to this NAS and connected ethernet cable to that adapter instead of the native port in the NAS, and I've got 5 gbit/s speeds now. I can copy files to my NVME SSD in this NAS with the speed of 500+ Mbytes/s. Since my router doesn't support high speeds I got TrendNet 10Gbit switch (4 x 2.5G RJ-45 Base-T Ports, 2 x 10G RJ-45 Ports, model TEG-S762) and connected the NAS and my main PC to that switch, so that they can interact with each other through the switch and not through the slow router.Software-wise, there are not many apps that can be installed with 1-click yet, but there's a Docker app, you install it, and then you can install basically any docker container app among thousands of available containers. To install apps I ask Grok AI for the correct "docker run" command (it installs and starts a docker container) and I was able to install what I needed this way. The UI natively allows adding users to the NAS and also get remote access, so you can access the NAS remotely outside your local network very easily. qBittorrent is supported natively (i.e. can be installed and run basically with 1 click), so I download torrents on my NAS instead of keeping the PC running and downloading at night when I need to download some large torrent with not many seeds. And then the downloaded torrents are of course available on the NAS to my whole home network. I share storage on the NAS via SMB (Samba) protocol, and the shared storage is easily and reliably available to all my PCs in my home network. High transfer speeds on these shares too. And the shares are always available without any issues (I used to have constant issues with shares being unavailable when I was attaching an external drive to my routers, but there are no such issues with this NAS. I guess perhaps because it supports all the latest SMB protocol versions and supports them well). You can also connect and share external drives via USB.0 issues so far. Again, absolutely happy with it.

Super fast, well designed
**Update to fan running: After inspecting the Task Manager within the UGreen app, I see that the fan is being triggered by the security app (which I had set to run in the morning). I changed it to run once a week. No fans come on now after boot up. Problem solved.**I bought this NAS recently as an upgrade to my 12-year old QNAP TS-469 Pro and I couldn't be happier. This UGreen NAS unit is really well thought out. I'm using (2) Crucial Nvme M.2 drives as well as (2) SanDisk 2.5" SSDs that I pulled/re-purposed from the QNAP NAS. Post-purchase I upgraded the memory to 16GB (OWC sells compatible memory for it).The UGreen NAS apps (for macOS and iOS) are superbly designed and built. The UI for both are easy to navigate and find what you're looking for. I did need a little drive setup help from a tech friend who showed me how to assign Volumes in the RAID area. I also had to make sure my Spectrum router "reserved" the IP address for it (giving it a static IP address) within the Spectrum app's settings.I am noticing one tiny little bug with the fans. When I boot the NAS in the morning, the fans come on after a 1/2 hour or so -- speeding up and slowing down gradually. When I go to the UGREEN NAS app and reboot it, the fans go quiet. Probably something UGreen needs to tweak in the next firmware release. Very minor in the grand scheme of things. One super cool thing about the UGreen NAS is its startup or reboot time: 1 minute. That's amazing.I highly recommend this drive or the 4-bay model.

GOODBYE ANYDESK
UPDATED....DOWNGRADED review...I discovered a peculiar flaw with the UGREEN line of NAS. I bought a UGREEN 2400...2 bay NAS and I COULD NOT get it configured the way I saw on MANY YOUTUBE videos. until I saw the video mentioned below. Titled ADVANCE feature of UGREEN 4800......I own a 2400By following you in this review of a 4800 NAS with a magnifying eyeball I NOW SEE WHY I CAN'T get MY UGREEN 2800 to work like you are describing here. NOT ALL UGREEN NAS are created equal!!!! My affordable "bottom of the line" unit does not have the features and functions of the 4800. In my 2400 I CANNOT select whether the M.2 can be CACHE or as a SDD drive. This is a problem with mostly all presenters getting their free UGREEN NAS for youtube videos. I followed you step-by-step with the M.2's plugged in and tried the dot-dot-dots and there is no choices there. So my setup was a waste of money buying a 2nd 2Tb SSD to be a volume. Apparently one cannot create a 2nd volume on these things. But my basic idea to swap files between 2 other computers for my internet music shows and the M.2 drives can be for backup for the computers running my playout software. Storage Pool 1 is file swapping....Pool 2 is a backup and Poole 3 is also a 1Tb backup.MY FIRST post tooting my hornI purchased this UGREEN NAS as an attempt to get easier access to music files without going through the Win 10 / 11 home network file swapping and sharing folders. It always seemed like "hit and miss" type of operation. ANY DESK was so easy and allows an I.T. friend of mine to get into my computer I use for online internet radio show. Now ANY DESK interrupts my transfers with a banner that hangs there for 100 seconds to make me spend $300/year for limitless computers. Easy to set up. It's setup and it was not easy. Hours of cursing!!!!
