The whole process is simple but follow the instructions given by the company so here goes . 1. Uninstall your previous office - all files are kept BUT make sure you know where your outlook PST file is , more of that later . 2. using the download link supplied on the letter that will arrive by post - There is a shortened .Biy.ly address that I used. Down load the ProPlus2021Retail.img which will arrive in your download folder of your browser and is about 4gb that took about 15 min on my connection . 3. Becos this is an .img file you need to mount it as a 'hard drive ' this is the only point at which the instructions didnt quite work as right clicking did not offer a mount option so i went with 'open with ' explorer and hey presto job done I could see the contents . 4. go to Office folder and double click either setup 32 or 64 - check your system stettings if you dont know what you have. 5. Double click Setup and it will install office , i think there was another step but once you've started its obvious 6. I then restarted my pc , just because its always a good idea after a MS install . And everything was there in the programs menu at the bottom ( no actual MS program folder in my case ) . 7 now click on any app ..excel outlook etc and it will ask for the activation code . 8 This was all a bit boring because i entered it and the dialogue disappeared ..now what ?? ... it was activated apparently . All good 9. Outlook found my PST file and my email account but was stuck "off line" . The solution was delete my email account and add it back in and everything was fine . It started to get emails and all was good . If it didn't initially find your pst file you can add it to outlook and you may have to add your email account as well . 10 excel found all my spreadsheets and even the list of previously used ones were there . I rebooted once again to see if anything was going to fall over and three days later i am still good . The most important thing to know is that this is a one use licence and has now been tied to the hardware of the PC i would suspect that slow moderate changes would be accepted extra ram or a new dvd drive perhaps a new hard drive if you clone your existing one maybe a new ethernet card BUT swap the mobo out or change PC's and its not going to like it and will not be activated . However for £35 im happy and its far better opion IMHO than MS Office 365. Hope this is useful , I've heard their customer service is good but I didnt need them . Review: Very speedy delivery - Very speedy delivery, and relatively easy to set up. I had a couple of installation issues, which were easily sorted with some help from a web search. Firstly, I encountered an error where I couldn't "Mount" the downloaded file, as it hadn't been obtained from the MS store. I couldn't find anywhere in my settings to allow third-party apps. It turned out my Windows 11 was in S mode, which prevents anything not directly from MS. But it was easy enough to change this, and the download then worked. (I won't give the instructions on how I did this here as I don't want to take credit for them, but they were easy enough to find in a web search.) Secondly, and this may well be obvious, but although it asks for the 25-character licence key, it does also require the hyphens (-) in between the blocks of 5, as printed. What's not to like? It arrived by Royal Mail on the day promised. It is a sheet of paper with your license key and very clear instructions how to download the software from the Microsoft website, install it and input your license key. It all went very smoothly and within a short time after it arrived, I had everything authorised and working. I can't fault the service. I always prefer paying a one off fee for my software rather than a subscription service and at this price it's makes far more sense. After reading other reviews, I think I must add that you need to read the instructions that are supplied and follow them. I genuinely had no problems at all. Anyone can download the genuine software from Microsoft for a trial but you need the license key to make it fully functioning. You are buying the license key with instructions how to download from Microsoft.
