Great Bike
Upon ordering the ProGear, it was delivered to my home in 2 days - impressive. The packaging was almost perfect - very well done. As dozens of other reviewers have commented, the assembly is straightforward and not difficult. The instructions are clear and all necessary bolts/washers are included. No tools are necessary, as they are included as well.I'm 5'4" - and like others of the same height, I have to use a pillow at my back to reach the pedals - not a problem at all - it's extremely comfortable. I rode one mile at a leisurely pace immediately after assembly. When riding, the bike is completely silent - the computer features are easily readable - and the seat is very comfortable. The only negative thing I have to say is that the paint is chipping off the grey gear housing box. I was about half-way into assembling when I noticed a small red patch of paint on the housing. I lightly rubbed the patch, thinking it would come off. The grey paint flaked off, leaving a large red spot. I noticed a large patch of bubbles - and as I lightly touched it, the paint again peeled off, leaving an even larger red blotch of paint, obviously the undercoat of paint on the housing. There are other bubble areas which I assume will peel off as well, as time goes by. It seems really odd because the rest of the bike is in almost perfect shape. It's not worth returning, as the bike is assembled. I'm hoping this review finds its way to the manufacturer so they can correct the problem.Other than the flaking paint, I'm pleased with my purchase and am very satisfied with the ProGear bike....the price/assembly/ride add up to a great deal.

Nice, but not at all easy to assemble!
I like this bike a lot, but found it VERY hard to assemble. I've assembled things before but had problems assembling this. I had to assemble it by myself, and it took me 4 hours! The instructions weren't easy to follow, and the parts and tools to use were shrink wrapped to a piece of cardboard and hard to remove. I followed each step but once it was assembled, I had 4 bolts and 4 spring washers left over that I can't figure out where they go (although the bike seems to be stable and secure without them). Also, the computer display is only showing speed (it should also show distance and pulse). I called the 800 number listed in the instruction manual, but it turned out to be a wrong number! I went to the company's website listed in the instruction manual and found a different phone number. I called that number and talked to someone there. They were very nice and are going to send me a new computer display part. I like using the bike. It's very quiet and the pedals turn very smoothly.Update: I've had this bike now for a couple weeks and actually LOVE it!! I never liked exercising, but I find myself actually looking forward to using this bike. I started out using it for 45 minutes in the morning 5 days a week, but the other night I was also on it for over 90 minutes in the evening! I can use it while watching TV. I also bought a little table that's tall enough so that I can use it to put my iPad on so that I can use the iPad while using the bike. I had a problem with the display panel when I first got it, but the company was very nice and sent me a replacement panel, which I installed, so the bike is now working just great. I would definitely recommend this bike.

needs improvement
As of right now I am not happy. this bike was easy to put together and it is silent. Folds up perfectly without taking up too much space. I'm 5'2 and it is a comfy fit. However after using the bike for a short amount of time the pedal came off mid work out and won't secure back on. I've emailed Amazon to see if they can help. Can't really use a bike without a pedal

awesome, quiet, therapeutic machine
Awesome machine! Super quiet, compact and portable. Assembly took 1hr from de-boxing to being used. The magnet tensioner is superb for a wide variety of difficulty settings from free wheeling to arduous hill climb. The digital readout could use back lighting to enable the user to see it in dim to dark areas. All in all.... for the price.....well worth the investment. I've had 9 knee surgeries and this machine allows me to have a cardio workout with zero impact to the knee joints.

Makes a clicking noise when pedaling
We have received and assembled this unit a week ago. It looks great and seems to do a good job except for a terrible clicking noise that appears when pedaling. Even after tightining all the bolts, the noise remains which is quite annoiying when watching TV or reading a book. There is no way to open the plastic case that houses the peddaling mechanism because the pedals can's be removed. This leaves us very unhappy and frustrated with this product. If you don't mind a noisy workout, than this machine may work for you, otherwise I would not recommend it.
