Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard Clear

Does exactly what it says it does. It clings to the guitar and protects it from the pick. My Taylor has a satin finish and it *does* have a pick guard, but I play pretty aggressive rhythm and the small area between sound hole and where the plastic guard starts was starting to get some wear (I've only had the guitar for two months!) so I knew I had to do something. I purchased the guitar at Guitar Center and was told there wasn't anything like this pickguard- I'm happy I didn't take his word for it! I'm thinking about purchasing another one for above the sound hole as well.

This was nothing more than a thin sheet of vinyl. I thought there would be some substance to it. It is way overpriced. I could have made this with a pair of scissors.

It is a good guard for moderate use. It adheres well to the guitar after a few hours and it is hard to tell that it is there. It will work well for those with moderate guard protection needs and who want to preserve the appearance of their guitar finish without an obvious non-wood guard.

I understand that it's reusable, but the cling doesn't stay put at all. It shifts even when lightly touched.

Before buying this, I'd seen reviews with complaints that it doesn't stick properly, or that it curls up like you see in the picture. I did not find this to be the case. I found it to be a great pick guard, and it stays put. I suspect it's adhesive qualities would diminish if I were to take it on and off repeatedly, but there's no need to do that.It is almost totally invisible on my blond spruce top, and provides very good protection. I also bought one for a black enamel spruce top, on which the guard is more visible, but only because I have not yet taken the time to push out the air bubbles I caught underneath it as I installed it.Also, I think it interferes less with the projection of sound than a thicker plastic pick guard would. It would be nice to see Taylor test that theory empirically. They might sell more of them.

I purchased two of these, one had a crease in it and is useless, the other did not and is great light pick scratch protection and I don't see it when my guitar is on a stand right in front of me.. Recieving a creased guard is the reason for 3 stars, why? they came in the same package? Too much trouble and cost to send back, I try to only use Amazon prime, it is worth the prime cost when you need to return something. Too many items that are not worth returning and that could have been the case here, to get rid of a damaged product.

I don't use a pick on my classical guitar but over the years my fingernail did quite a number toward ruining to cedar top of an expensive guitar. After purchasing a new guitar I bought the Taylor Pick Guards to avoid a repeat. Although the price seemed a bit high for a thin sheet of plastic, i was delighted at how well they worked. Not only do they protect the guitar top, they also stay in place amazingly well and do no harm to the guitar finish (no sticky adhesive).. In fact, they work so well, I purchased several more for my other guitars.

This pickguard is very flimsy. It will fit, but it will not stay in place on our Baby Taylor guitar. It is nothing more than a type of electrostatic plastic/vinyl film. It does however work better on a glossy surface as long as you get all the air bubbles out.

It doesn't stop you getting a good sound from tapping the guitar. That's the good.The package arrives with no instructions for effectively applying it, and it literally is just a piece of plastic film for nearly ten quid.It's pretty visible and doesn't look great at all...well, it looks like you've got a piece of cheap plastic film stuck to the front of your guitar. Because you have.I'm probably going to ditch it and just accept that my guitar will get slowly roughed up by my nails.

Had to cut it to shape and it doesn't actually stick to the guitar. Waste of money.

Ideal, just what I wanted. unobtrusive and easy to apply and remove. Adheres to the guitar without any problems.

元々はTaylorのジャンボやドレッドノートタイプ用のデザインのようですが、ウェスタンタイプでなくても、いわゆるフォークギター等の小ぶりのボディーのものでも問題ないと思います。今回、ピックガードが無く、塗装がグロスフィニッシュのK.YairiのRFシリーズを購入して、ピックのスクラッチ傷防止のためにピックガードを検討したのですが、このTaylorの自己吸着フィルム（プラスチックの板なのではなく、まさにフィルムです）は申し分ないです。　セルロイド等の板を両面テープ等で貼り付けるいわゆるピックガード・ゴルベ板も検討しましたが（ PICK BOY PG-70C 、 PICK BOY PG-70/C/ 等）、両面テープ等で貼り付けるときにもし万が一失敗したり、後々剥がしたくなったりしたときのことを考えると（ギターに与えるダメージを最小限に留めておくという意味で）、やはり、（ある程度のギターのリペア等は自分でできるのですが）専門の修理工房等にお願いすべきだろうと思い、あくまでも素人が気軽にという場合にはこのフィルムが最適だなと判断しました。また、他にも自己吸着式のものが（もう少し安い価格で）あるようですが（ Lowden ギターピックガード 、 Lowden ギターピックガード ）、そちらは（貼れば透明になるのでしょうが）一見した感じは半透明のもののようで、このTaylorのものは本当に透明のフイルムでした。デザインというか、私にとって傷を防いで欲しい場所を効率よくガードしてくれる形としてもTaylorのものの方が良いと思い、こちらにしました。　上手く貼れば、本当に付けているのが分からないぐらいです。上手く貼るには若干コツが必要ですが、自己吸着式の液晶ディスプレイ保護フィルムを貼り慣れている私にとっては割と普通に貼れました（そういう意味では液晶ディスプレイ保護フィルムと同じような感じです）。まだ装着したばっかりで、剥がして洗浄してからの再貼付ではどの程度のものかが分かりませんが、液晶ディスプレイ保護フィルム等の経験から、ある程度は問題ないのかなと思ってます。　今貼り付けているギターはポリウレタン塗装なので問題は無さそうですが、（注意書きにもありますが）ラッカー塗装等のデリケートな塗装だと、長時間貼り付けていると問題あるでしょうね。また、今回はグロスフィニッシュだったので迷わずこの商品を購入して、よくくっついているし、ほとんど目立たないし、ピックのスクラッチ傷等は防いでくれそうだし、とても満足していますが、トップの塗装がサテンフィニッシュの場合には使えるのかどうか分かりません…。　ただ、値段がちょっと高めなので星４つです。それと、どうやら流通量は少ないようで、あまり見かけないのが難点ですかね。 PICK BOY PG-70CPICK BOY PG-70/C/Lowden ギターピックガードLowden ギターピックガード

PRSギターの為、元々ピックガードはないので練習時に使用しています。ボディ表情の良い楽器なのでやたら隠すのも勿体ないので貼ったり剥がしたりのモノが必要でした。エレキなのでサウンドホールもないのですがシートをギターに合わせてカッティングして使っています。その為シートが2枚必要。品物のイメージは薄い透明のデスクシートの様な感じでしょうか。
