Three Little Pugs and the Big, Bad Cat

Purchased this to bring to a baby shower in lieu of a card for baby's first library. Both Grandpa and Grandma have pugs who are going to be this precious baby's Uncles and Mommy has a very spoiled cat. So this book is PERFECT!!!

My son loves pugs so this book looked perfect but its missing pages and one page looks like it is cut in half. Very disappointed as was my son.

My 4 year old loves this book.

Well, not quite, but for my eighteen month old son this book ticks all the boxes. Funny, quirky, this take on the three little pigs is so much more than a gimmick and is really quite cleverly done - the mixture of charming illustrations and photographs works perfectly for very young children, as my son was able to immediately recognize the dogs, even before he could understand the story. The catchphrases provide ample opportunity for parents to use silly voices, and I think I enjoy reading it to him as much as he does listening! For older children, there’s plenty of scope for shouting out and interacting, and my son, although still quite young, gleefully anticipates every page.It does help that we have a pug (who my son also finds hilarious), and if you do too then you really shouldn’t waste another moment in buying this for your children.

The story itself is an enjoyable modern twist on the traditional classic. It was enjoyed very much by my new Year 1 class on one of our recent transition days and inspired them to write some great new versions themselves (although many of them included pugs after reading this!).Personally I'm not overly keen on the mixed use of drawings and photos for the illustrations, I found it a little odd but young pug lovers will adore it.

My 3 year old son absolutely loves this book. Its a good job I like it too as he has it every night before bed. Great friendly story ( no pugs are eaten ha), with great creativity, repeated words that he loves to shout out at each point during the story and great illustrations. Just wish the cat had been real too like the pugs. Great for any three little pig/pug fans!!

My 5 yr old is obsessed with dogs, pugs being among the most favourite! She also loves cats and adored rhis funny and cute story.

What a find. I love pugs, my great-nephew does too! I read it and chuckled then passed it on to him. His Mum has to read it every night!
