I have been very pleased with this stick vacuum! It is lightweight and very versatile between cleaning hardwood and carpet. It also does great with stairs and getting into crevices and below furniture. The attachments are minimal, but well selected. A crevice tool, small roller brush head for furniture, and the wider rigid tool are all I need, in addition to the primary head. The cord is a bit stiffer than I would prefer, but it does not impede my ability to vacuum the floors in my home. I was keen to get a corded vacuum to avoid potentially losing power with a dying battery or being down due to charging. So I would gladly trade consistent vacuum suction for a stiffer cord. Something I really appreciate is how easy it is to disassembly portions of the vacuum to clean and/or maintain. The filters are easy to remove and clean, which helps maintain the aforementioned suction consistency. I had one instance where the suction was falling short, and I found a little door on the bottom of the vacuum head and upon opening found a blockage. That was easy to remove and I was back to full power. All in all, I think this is a great stick vacuum and well worth the price.

Easy to put together. I wouldn't even call it "assembly". Cord is not an issue. (In previous reviews was ribbed & stiff)( I had problems with previous high rated up right that had an unwieldy cord, almost tripping me). Well designed, very powerful, great cleaning. Works not just pushing forward but both pushing and pulling. Lightweight. (Hated my upright, it was like dragging a ball & chain). The collection chamber is so easy to empty. I am amazed at all of the fine dirt, dog hair & regular dirt that comes out of my carpets even after just one week. Love the way it senses the type of floor & make the adjustment automatically. A+ for designing, ease to use & affordability. I would give this 10 stars.

I was completely shocked to see how badly my very expensive Kirby sucked, literally! This vacuum is pulling so much nasty stuff out of my carpet and my house “appears” clean. I vacuum daily, no shoes are allowed on carpet and our dog isn’t allowed on the carpet areas either and the container still looks like this after each daily vacuum.I love how light it is and how I can go from tile to carpet and it adjusts on its own. Throw rugs are a little difficult because the suction is so strong, if they are not secured they will get sucked into the vacuum.And the upholstery attachment is awesome!!My two complaints as to why I gave it a 4 out of 5 is because it doesn’t have a place for all the attachments and the cord is so darn stiff it gets in the way or trips you.If the cord was more flexible I would definitely give this a 5/5!

I was saddened to have to return Shark's auto empty cordless. I loved that vacuum's features. It just wasn't practical as the high powered mode only lasted 10-15 min that required 6 hours to charge! I even tried charging it for 1 hours then tried to finish the kitchen and it auto shut off.This corded version doesn't have all the same features like the auto empty dock and the edge detection. But it is very powerful in terms of general suction. And it still auto detects hardwood vs carpet. The amount of fine dust it extracts from the carpet really went to show how inferior my old $100 vacuum performed. This vacuum is very lightweight and the hair collection comb design combined with the easy small collection cup is awesome. What's also great is how easy it is to transition from full wand mode, to stair mode, to straight wand mode. Also in terms of storing,if you have a shorter closet, the top handheld motor part can detach and be hung securely on the lower part of the wand, essentially making it half the height during storage!

I bought the powerdetect to give it a try and I’ve been very impressed with the suction, maneuverability, ease of use for the corded stick vacuum after one month of use three times a week. It picks up dog and cat hair very well even during summer shedding season. The cord is not as stiff as I was expecting based on other reviews but it is sturdier than most other vacuums I have had. Cleaning it is a breeze, the dust container is small but easily emptied, and there aren’t a million filters or compartments that need to be emptied or checked for debris. Beware of the suction power because I caught the power cord on the first use; I haven’t done that since I was a child! Design is sleek, clearly labeled, and powerful. I don’t find the noise any worse than any of my other vacuums, only there is a squeal on back strokes when used on rugs. It’s a vacuum! You still can’t talk on the phone or watch tv while someone is vacuuming. I find it works great on rugs and hardwood or tile with no need for manual adjustments when moving from one surface to another. Well worth the money.

It isn't often that both my wife and I get excited about the power and effectiveness of a vacuum but with the Shark Power Detect Ultra Light Corded Stick Vacuum we did. It has everything you could want in a vacuum especially if you don't have acres of flooring to clean. It picks up so much dust, dander and dirt from your floors including carpet, wood, and vinyl, has a more than enough power, super long heavy duty cord, the head is easily maneuvered and it is easy to empty the dust cup and clean and change the filters. It has two rollers and the unit adjusts the rpms of them automatically when the vacuuming surface changes. Just perfect.

Excellent stick vacuum. Stands on its own. Powerful, automatically detects the type of flooring it is vacuuming. Carpet or bare floors. Easy to use. Fantastic pickup. Best Shark I have ever owned. Great for pet hair.
