CAMPINGMOON Mess Tin Aluminum Camping Cookware Extreme Thick

I rarely writes reviews, but I am so happy with my purchase of this mess tin. The quality is top notch, the material is thick, so it helps cooking evenly. The finish is smooth, the size and the shape works perfect for one person, smallish person. If you eats a lot, you might need a bigger size. I cooked rice in it, I lined with parchment paper, the rice came out perfectly the very first time, I am so impressed with the result. I highly recommend this product.

Used this over a charcoal grill while doing a day of fishing at the lake. Used it for medium grain rice and it came out amazing, the durability and material didn’t stain, bend, or bow. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I have many Campingmoon products, no I’m not affiliated nor have I ever received free products, I just love the quality of their merchandise, they have never disappointed and this is no exception. This mess kit is thicker but light weight, the lid opens and closes like it should not too lose or tight unlike the Trangia one that cut and burned me spilling liquid trying to open until I finally put it in the garbage and got this. I love the built in holes for draining liquids, you turn the lid around if you want them closed, smooth edges (will not cut me like the other one) the handle is much more substantial than others, the thickness of the kit leads me to believe it won’t warp with heat from the alcohol stove. Haven’t use it in the field yet but I’m sure it’ll perform well. I’m getting the cutting board/ tray delivered today that’s made for it and considering my previous experience with all their products I’ve purchased I doubt I’ll be disappointed, just wish they’d had the steam insert too. Get this one, you won’t regret it.

I like this container. It's thick enough, but heats quickly at the same time. It scratches easily. The silver polished finish is easily scratched and turns black on the outside. There must be a different coating on the inside of the pot, because it doesn't scratch so easily. It's reasonably easy to clean. Food does not burn and cling, like on cheaper metals, making for simpler maintenance. I don't expect this to look like new all it's useful life. Without abuse, I think it's going to hold it's shape and serve me well. It would have gotten give stars if not for the handle. It would be much more useful with a locking position. It's sturdy and durable in the extended, upright position, but if you turn the vessel upside down to empty, the handle collapses. The pan falls and the contents are directed backwards onto you. Same goes if you fold the handle over without the lid on, it falls into the contents. If the handle had locking positions, or more friction, it would allow you to pour things out similar to a normal pan,or pot. Likewise, you could fold it over and use it as a carrying handle. I like the size and quality. My only wish is the handle had a better design.

The CAMPINGMOON Mess Tin, Camping Steam Tray and Fryer Basket in my mind are part of a set. I saw a Youtube video or two on this set and I was really impressed. My wife is Chinese and not a camper. I thought to have the mess tin to allow us to do Chinese food link steamed buns and dumplings out camping would be awesome. I will not be able to use these until May June of 2026 when I go out camping again. I have not used them yet. I will give them a tentative five stars based on the fact of seeing the YouTube videos and the fact they are made out of Stainless Steel. In my Tembotusk skottle I have made steamed cinnamon rolls. I can see using the CAMPINGMOON tin for smaller scale steaming. I don't know if I plan to do much frying particularly if I am in the Sierras at high altitude (but with the Fryer Basket I have the option). Also the price for these items is very modest so you can't go wrong.

I am thoroughly impressed with this mess tin. The days of poorly manufactured products from China is over! I admit I was somewhat skeptical of this item as this was my first time ordering anything from Campingmoon brand and Chinese made products have a bad reputation that has been around for years. This mess tin is thick, this means it doesn’t dent and scratch as easily as other mess tins. It also means it retains heat better with less of a chance of burning/hotspots. It doesn’t rattle or feel cheap. It has thick silicone handles that help protect your hands from heat. I’ve had European and American made cookware that doesn’t have silicone handle covers this thick. It has holes for draining pasta. It has nubs on the side that make it easier to handle and lift the lid. With many mess tins there are complaints about removing the lid easily and the need to grind burrs down from the lip. Not on this mess tin. It’s nice and smooth out of the box and the price is decent. I will be shopping for more Campingmoon products soon.

Love using this thing. It's a top quality Mess Tin. I also bought a pot lifter so you can use the lid as a fry pan, I also bought a fryer basket and a steamer trivet which expands it's use. It is so versatile for cooking so many different things and you can also pack other gear that you need into it like a small stove and utensils.
