Impressive Bose quality in a smart, highly portable package
Having recently bought a new MacBook Air, I was keen to find a portable Bluetooth speaker that would improve the MacBook's tinny sound. After having watched a few comparison videos on YouTube, I plumped for the Flex 2 SoundLink. It felt strange buying a speaker without hearing or seeing it, but I've had Bose products before and always liked their sound. Having used it for three weeks now I have to say I'm really impressed. It's so easy to use, immediately pairing to both my laptop and iPhone and for such a small speaker the sound is superb. Yes, it's not stereo, but the quality of the sound it produces is superb, neither tinny or boomy, just rich and surprisingly loud. I find it works best sat on a phone stand (I use the excellent Lamicall) and in conjunction with a portable Anker charger. Once charged, the battery lasts for hours (at least 10) and quickly recharges. Being portable and Bluetooth, you can take it anywhere you want, be it the bathroom or outside. The speaker can also be controlled via the Bose app which also allows you to alter the EQ levels (Although fairly basic, I imagine Bose will update the software at some point) All n all, I think this is a great little speaker - it has transformed listening to music on both my laptop and phone. Its understated looks and finish exude quality and the sound performance speaks for itself.

This speaker is awesome!!
This speaker is awesome!Needed a compact Bluetooth speaker with great sound quality. Bose deliver again! Warm rich bass, clear mids and highs. This thing packs a punch but also can sit happily in the background just creating an ambience.Battery lasts ages, no issues with connection or drop out. This thing now goes with me on all my trips and is the perfect bbq companion!!

Typically high quality Bose
Bought as a replacement for a broken Soundtouch10. Mainly for indoors use it has an excellent clear sound that comfortably fills a room at under half volume and an easy setup. Power on and connect via Bluetooth. Found I didn’t need the “Bose Connect” app to adjust the EQ settings, in fact this app couldn’t find the speaker. Instead I just use the entirely different Bose app. and that worked first time. Great quality and a decent price with very fast delivery.

Great little speaker with a big sound
Great sound. We use this in the garden. Easy to connect via Bluetooth even for a novice like me. The green colour is lovely. A great little addition for our gathering outside. We are more than happy with our speaker

Not quite fantastic...."WHOMP!"
Great... but just not quite fantastic. As others have grumbled on Reddit....The Sound link Flex 2 makes a rather loud and unsubtle "WHOMP!" sound when you turn it on, it connects to a device or if you simply plug it on charge. Not so great when you want to be discreet. There's no way of disabling this in the App settings and after speaking to Bose technical support...it's normal and cannot be disabled at present. Boo :(Hoping perhaps a future software / firmware update will make it an option to disable or at least turn down the "WHOMP" (c'mon Bose this would be SO easy!) as apart from this annoyance the speaker sounds great, battery is good, charge time is quick, water resistance is perfect for the shower and it looks and feels premium as you would expect from Bose......just that ruddy.... "WHOMP" urgh :/

This thing is immense. I have several Bose speakers around the house and bought this thinking it would be good for outdoors, it is what a great bit of kit
