Very tiny ad is definitely deceiving
My mushrooms were no bigger than 1/2 inch before soaking then I measured 15 and some were pieces of mushroom and none were over 1 inch total. I would have been satisfied if they were the size the ad had shown. When will the deception stop on these ads.

Great Mushrooms
The mushroom caps are thick! They rehydrate well. They look & taste great. I use them when cooking Chinese food. The product is well-protected from tampering. The container is sealed w/ a shrink-wrap plastic. Upon removing the lid, the container was sealed w/ a covering that you peel off.

Great to have on hand for last-minute meals
These dried shiitake mushrooms are high quality, with a rich, earthy flavor that adds depth to any dish. I found soaking them a bit longer than the package recommends—around 45 minutes to an hour—works best for a softer texture. With a long shelf life, they’re perfect to have on hand for last-minute meals when fresh mushrooms aren't available. I used the soaking water in a soup, and it really enhanced the flavor.

Rehydrate/cook well
I usually don't buy fresh mushrooms unless I know for sure I'm using them within a day or 2 so having dried mushrooms on hand is nice for those meal ideas that come up when nothing else is needed from the store. I soaked a few of these for about 45 minutes before slicing them and adding them and their soaking water to a sauce and while I would have preferred to have used fresh mushrooms these were good and I definitely preferred the sauce much more with these than if I had skipped the mushrooms.

Tastes same as competition, not great. Slow to rehydrate.
I think it is a limitation of dried shitake mushrooms. I have never met a dried shitake mushroom that I liked. To my mouth they always taste a little bit like sulfur and that taste lingers in the aftertaste as well. They also don't rehydrate nearly as quickly as one might want. In the photo, I rehydrated that one for 60 minutes and yet when I ate it, it was still a little too chewy in the center, especially in the nub of the stem. I love fresh mushrooms, but dried ones are not really my thing, especially shitake mushrooms. So, compared to other dried shitake mushrooms, these are above average due to the fact that most of the stem is not included. Flavor-wise they are the same. Not great. Size wise, these are a little smaller than some, but still a good size for cooking. As for value for the money, I can buy nearly the same quality for less than half the price at my Asian market, so unless I can't make it there, these can't compete.
