These gis are great value and very much sufficient. But having bought two in different colours and sizes there's some unexpected differences.I have the adult version of this gi myself and bought a M000 in black and M0 in blue. Both kids gis are very much lighter weight than the adult, the jackets are all described as 350gsm but there's no way this is correct for the kids ones. The black jacket is slightly thicker than the blue. I don't think this lighter weight is a downside as kids gis don't need to be as strong, and lighter can be more comfortable and is definitely faster to hang dry.The blue pants are a lightweight weave with ripstop style check squares. The black pants are slightly heavier with no squares. The blue pants have a thick branded drawstring like the adult pants, but the black drawstring is much thinner and cheaper.The M0 belt is actually 25cm shorter than the M000 belt! The M0 belt is barely long enough to be used at all but the M000 is better quality and great. Oh well, the belt is 'free' and cheaply upgraded.All in all it looks like there's been some product revisions and variations between old/new stock but with the exception of the short belt there's no differences that are really significant.A word on sizing - go by the size guide on the Tatami website and not reviewer comments here. I think people like to get large sizes for their kids to grow into but this doesn't help their game because their opponents can more easily grab cuffs or general bagginess. The size guide is already generous enough to allow for shrinking and some growth, in the scheme of things a gi isn't a huge expense and it's better for your child to have a properly fitting one from the outset than be struggling for a year in one that's intentionally too big! Your club will probably appreciate the donation of your old gis anyway, for loans or to help new starters.
