Noticable performance boost
Immediate difference in performance. Not anything dramatic, but memory usage on my laptop dropped from 75% to 25-30%. I have an older laptop, Asus X550CA, which has 4GB ram with 8GB maximum. It was great when it first came out running windows 8 but since the upgrade to windows 10 it's been pretty clunky. Sad that my laptop can only take up to 8GB but i can't afford a newer one and this did help speed it up to at least a manageable state. I primarily use the laptop for web surfing and video editing, both of those functions are decently faster after adding the extra 4GB. Simple and cheap solution to what would have been (and soon will be) an obsolete machine.

Crucial Memory chip works Great
Should have doubled my laptop memory a long time ago. Now I can have 20 or more browser tabs open as well as more than a couple programs open and my laptop keeps on truckin'! No more major slowdowns or even freezing screens. I've got a Dell Inspiron 3521 and everything works great. Fairly easy to install, removed the cover on the bottom next to the battery then slid the memory into the second slot in a sort of angled motion from the top then push it down slightly till it seats. There are you tubes out here on how to do it, it's pretty hard to describe. Also came well packaged, getting it out of that packaging was probably the most difficult thing to do.

Just what the gaming doctor ordered.
Worked great in my brothers Alienware laptop. Thing was a dog with only 2gb, surprised Dell let it leave the factory like that.Remember more RAM won't make your computer faster, it'll just keep it from getting slow. If you keep hitting your physical memories ceiling then your computer attempts to use your hard drive like memory and you'll notice a dramatic slow down of your system since most people still use spindle hard drives (opposed to Solid State Drives). If you constantly go over the 4gb in your system but never go over 8gb, then having 8gb is perfect, doubling to 16gb wouldn't make your system any faster.Upgrading your memory is one of the cheapest and easiest upgrades you can do on your system but the biggest difference would be noticed when upgrading to a solid state drive.

Ram is excellent
So far excellent. My toshiba came with 2GB in only 1 slot. I just doubled it to 4 to future proof my laptop. Plus the OCZ ARC 100. Now i have ultrabook speed. Update. 36% ram usage with google chrome open. Instead of 72% with 2Gb. Do it. my 8/28/15 update. i had 1 tab in google open [amazon] and checked task manager for ram usage. 1 had 1.7 GB left and zero SSD usage. you might think waste. Nope. work in the RAM. if i had more TABS open [youtube, facebook] and no extra RAM. the CPU would be using the HDD, and there is your laggy clocky thing. make a once in a lifetime [or twice] investment in this RAM stick. its worth your time.

Reliable ram upgrade
Worked without problems in my Dell 3521 laptop. Upgraded from 4gb to 8gb, fortunately there was an empty slot available so I didn't have to spend extra and get an 8gb module. (Some laptops with 4gb use both slots at the factory with 2 pcs of 2gb ram, forcing you to toss at least one if you want to upgrade. cheesey.) I considered getting an 8gb to make 12gb total, but decided I probably wouldn't benefit speedwise. As it is, the speed boost is modest but noticeable. Worth the $.

Absolutely worth the upgrade!
I bought this a year and a half ago to upgrade my laptop to 8 Gigs of RAM. Even though I was coming from 6GBs, the performance boost was noticeable. What once was a crashed browser, now has more tabs open than ever, and keeps chugging along. I also installed a 500GB SSD, and the performance of the machine is so much better than it was, I will have to wait a long time before considering an upgrade. Crucial has always made a reliable product, and their memory is always top notch. If you have room for this in your machine, it's absolutely worth the upgrade.

Happier now
Bought this particular item because I've purchased Crucial memory before without disappointment, because Amazon has always handled any problems well and because it was close to the lowest price. My only issue was with my own installation: Failure to insert the memory into the socket at a 45-degree angle to the motherboard before pressing into place, so it did not seat properly and I thought I had ruined it. After reading and following the instructions (on the crucial website), it functions properly. The additional memory raised my windows performance index for memory from 5.9 to 7.6 and my laptop does seem to be somewhat faster and does not hang so easily when I open numerous web tabs at once. Happier now! Read and follow the instructions and you will be, too.
