The quality is pretty great for the price, I'm not certain it will be able to withstand any art I wanted to doodle inside but it's okay. I easily reset the lock combo to my choosing without trouble, and it isn't flimsy! Happy with my purchase:)

My oldest granddaughter is both a reader and a writer; she loves to jot down stories and thoughts in a small, well worn volume which she calls her journal. I decided that it was time she had something a little better for her writing endeavours.This is a proper journal, complete with a simple yet secure combination lock on the cover. It has all the basics that you expect in a nice journal, a pen loop, a book mark, and the ability to open it to a full flat position. There are 224 lined pages in the book; the blocks (sets of 16 pages) are tightly sewn. The front and back covers are nicely padded with the front featuring an embossed illustration of a butterfly alighting on a flower and a floral design around the outside edge.The combination lock works nicely and is a huge improvement on the journals which have the cheaply built keyed locks as fasteners. The combination lock on this volume can easily be changed to a new set of numbers. Happily, it features a special “emergency” combination which can be used to unlock it if you forget yours. The journal comes in a nice gift box neatly labelled “Best Wishes To You”.I do wish that the manufacturer had seen fit to include a matching pen with the set.This is a lovely gift for an aspiring young writer. It is big enough to be easy to write in while not so big as to be difficult to tuck in a purse or backpack. This journal/diary is very attractive and I know that its stylish, more adult look will really appeal to our granddaughter. At its current price of $20 CAD (with coupon), it is competitively priced. Recommended.

This is not a run of the mill cheap diary, it is well designed and well made with quality materials from the padded cover to the pages inside. It has an etched design on the cover of a butterfly, flowers and a floral design around the edges. The vintage lock is easy to use with an alternative combination in case you forget yours. I like that it lays flat making it easier to write. It has a bookmark the same colour as the cover. Unfortunately, it does not include a matching pen. This diary arrives well packaged in a box ready to gift.The purple is stunning. Any teenager would love this diary, but this would also make a wonderful gift for adults who want to write down cherished memories to be passed on one day.

This is a very nice diary cover complete with the diary. I was pleased to see that the book inside can be pulled out and a new one inserted in the cover to extend its life. The cover feels nice and soft, is cleaned with a wipe on the smooth finish. The lock is better quality than any diary lock from when I was a kid LOL!Pages are thick paper, nicely lined for you and a string for bookmarking your spot. The cover contains a holder for a pen however no pen was included. I plan to give this as a gift and I will add a pen inside that holder before I do, otherwise it feels like a piece was missing. I also deducted 1 star from this review because the pen is not included. Otherwise this makes a nice economical gift that won't break the bank.
