In the US, the voltage at most home outlets is between 110 and 120 V DC. (There are reasons for this, and I'm not going to go into them.) Assuming that we have 1560 Watts, divided by 110 Volts, the current draw will be about 14 Amps (Current = Watts/Volts.) At 120 Volts at the outlet, and 1560 Watts at full power, the current draw will be 13 amps. This means if your patio outlet is on a 15 Amp breaker/fuse, you're probably going to pop the breaker or blow the fuse when you first turn it on if you jack it up to full power with a quick flip of your wrist (this depends on what else is on the circuit.) If it's on a 20 amp fuse/breaker, you're probably going to be fine. What I do is disconnect/turn off everything else on the circuit (my inside electric fireplace and outside light is on the same circuit,) turn it on to the medium heat (which is about 750 watts, which means about 7 amps) then slowly turn it up to full power to pre-heat, over a minute, so I don't pop my breakers. I don't use an extension cord on mine, because of where the outlet is, but if you need to use an extension cord, use a 20 amp rated, 3 pronged, grounded outside cord, and keep the length as short as possible (3-6 feet.) The cord has a resistance, which means that you're going to get a voltage drop per foot of cord. 3-6 feet, depending on the cord, won't really affect the heat of the grill, but a 20 foot cord will, and you'll have searing problems at the highest heat.After that, it's a nice, little, hot grill. **Q: Internal dimensions or cubic capacity** A: Internal measurements - grates 20" x 14"Depth from the grates to the top of the concave top shield is 7" which would be your tallest height **Q: For the q2400 electric grill is there a preferred or special brush needed for cleaning** A: I use Weber 6493 21-Inch 3-Sided Grill Brush because the wire sides clean between the grates nicely. After reading other reviews, Amazon and elsewhere we gave this baby a try. Super easy to assemble, (which was not the case with the little cart/stand we bought with this) portable, and NO MORE GAS! It's perfect for two, but we could cook for four or six easily. Will fit a rack of ribs easily. This one gets hot! I was surprised at how quickly it heated, and stayed hot hot hot! The construction is very sturdy, the lid is heavy, which is why the heat is so good on this. We have cooked chicken breasts, which came out as flavorful and juicier than our old gas grill. The burgers we made, the same story. Best of all, we can keep it in the garage, and it can quickly wheel on to the front patio, plug it in and cook. Last week it was very windy, so we just wheeled it out to the back of the house, no problem. Living at the beach, we have gone through so many grills. It didn't matter what kind of cover we used, they all eventually rust after about 3 years, 4 if you're lucky, Clean up is so easy now.
