Awesome!
Good quality, reliable & not too bulky for a desktop hard drive. Works well with the xbox x series. This has been a life saver for my boys because they don't like deleting games to install new ones. No more meltdowns because the console is full up. At this price for a 3tb it's a massive bargain as well. I was a bit dubious at first, maybe too good to be true but as it turns out I'm a very happy customer &my boys are too. Really good buy, great item, great price.

Great external hard drive
This is a solid piece of kit with a lot of storage space at a great price, easy to install it's fast but does make some strange noises every time in use but that may be normal, I recommend to anyone looking for lots of file/photo storage.

Works with my Panasonic TV as media storage
I wanted a media store for use with my Panasonic TV, the manual of which stated that it was compatible with exFAT-formatted hard drives. As this comes preformatted as exFAT it made it an attractive purchase. No instructions included, but obvious enough what to do with the various items. The power on/off button does not indicate its position/state. The mains adaptor has the correct 'CE' marking and does not get warm in use.On connecting to a USB2.0 port of my rather elderly Wondows laptop , it was found and mounted automatically. I copied a few files of various types over, powered off, then connected it to one of the TV's USB ports. The 'Media Player' app was able to play/show them as expected (same as from USB Flash memory device).I have since copied more files (mostly video) to this HDD, and have experienced no device-related problems. It is happy to use an old USB cable instead of the supplied USB3.0 cable, which is more convenient for me to connect to PC. I suspect that eventually it could take a long-ish time for the TV to determine the drive's contents.Regarding noise, there is some 'drive whirr', but a rafia coaster provides good acoustic insulation from the surface I have placed it on near the TV. It also makes some other noises, probably associated with head arm movement, but these are only marginally irritating.Overall, I am very content with this purchase.

Easy to setup
Bought this to shut my husband up , unfortunately that didn't happen and now all I hear is how good it is and how easy it was to set up, I don't understand it all but my husband is extremely happy with it and wants more, he highly recommends this harddrive.

Does not work with Amazon Cube V3
I called Amazon because we have a new Fire Cube Version 3. This new cube supposedly gets over the 2-4GB limit the previous Version 2 Cube had because it would only see drives formatted Fat32. So ... I called Amazon and they put me through to some guy in the Fire Devices team. He told me I could now connect the Version 3 cube to drives formatted in TFS and therefore get over the file size restriction. They suggested this drive as it "plays well" with everything from Xbox to PlayStation's.I bought it. We formatted it to NTFS. We loaded a couple of .mkv 4K films on which all our other media players play without any problem. It struggled. It struggled to both play the video and more importantly the audio. We reformatted the drive via the Cube. We then made sure the USB3 lead was connected properly. We added a couple of 4K .mkvs and once again it struggled. We used VLC and NOVA (which faired better) rather than the awful Amazon media player but ...its no use for films. It obviously just is not fast enough.I am sure for storing excel or word files it is okay but for playing films via the USB on the Amazon Cube (whatever Amazon say ) its not up to the task. Returned it.

Really good
I messed up a bit on the order and didn;t really realise that you need to plug this hard drive in rather than just connecting it via USB. That's not a problem though (I've got plug sockets!). Transferring data from my laptop to the hard drive seems to be a lot quicker than it was on previous USB connected devices, not sure if this it to do with the fact the hard drive is plugged in but it's pretty nippy. A lot of storage too and no problems so far.
