Works like it's supposed too
Works like it's supposed too.. If your in a jam you can get away with using vise grips to lock out the safety cable. Clamp on what's left of your cable and pull it till you get just past the metal bracket, about 2 inches back. Then let er' rip!! To kill the motor just pull the vise grip to unlatch the safety cut off.. I ran my mower like this till I was able to locate the correct part. Most original cables do have part #'s on them, clean them off really good and look very close from end to end. Good Luck!!

Good cure to the arduous startup process
For a few bucks, you can swap out this cable to prevent having to wedge in a piece of wood to bypass the engine ground switch.

Lead Z eylets too big/break.
I had used a few Oregon parts in the past and they had worked fine, so i purchased this one.The Lead Z bent eyelets were too large in diameter to fit into the holes on either the engine nor the handle end.One Z broke while trying to twist it into place onto the motor end. I then ended up wiring this end to the motor as i needed to get the lawn mowed. (See copper wire in pic)I then drilled the hole slightly larger on the handle end so that the Z eyelet would not break on that end.I then had to bend the shut off switch on the motor end as the cable was now about 1/8" too long. Not the biggest deal as i have had to readjust these in the past and is easy to do with a pair of pliers. This may have been due to me wiring the cable into position, rather then a cable length issue.Well, time went by and after a couple mowing's the handle end of the cable Z eyelet broke off. Now i am 4 days past the return date.I will try a Stens cable as i have literally used hundreds of their products and seldom had an issue (tecumseh brass carb float and B&S plastic starter pulleys had issues). I would have ordered an OEM/Genuine Husky/Ayp/Sears from Amazon, but they did not offer one with Prime shipping at the time of my second order.

Perfect fit & works great
Works great & is a perfect replacement fit. I got my mower back without having to jury-rig it every time I wanted to use it? Cable replacement took about 5 minutes.

Perfect fit for my Craftsman
Fits my Craftsman 917.378361 perfectly. The original finally snapped from rust after probably 10 years and this one is the exact fit.182755 Engine Control Cable was the original number from Sears.

Cost and fit.
I used it to replace a seized cable for an older lawnmower. It fit perfectly and the lawnmower can be used again.
