didn't seem to dye evenly but once dry it was fine. I am very impressed with the results and ...
Over the years I have done quite a bit of dying but never used this product before. I knew it was difficult to dye 100% polyester but couldn't find just the right colour crepe fabric for my mother of the bride outfit so diy dying was the only solution. I was only changing the colour slightly but my first test sample picked up too much colour in less than 5 mins. Although I haven't dyed my whole fabric yet I achieved the right colour change to another sample by using a very watered down mix and I didn't have to use the colour intensifyer. On one sample I did get some darker spots because I added more dye part way through so I will make sure it boils in the pan first before adding my fabric. I will also cut out my fabric pieces before dying (slightly bigger in case of shrinkage) to reduce the overall volume of fabric. As part of my ensemble I have had to mix some dyes to match the colour of a contrast fabric, which worked well. Some lace, which must be a mix of fibres, didn't seem to dye evenly but once dry it was fine. I am very impressed with the results and wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

Outstanding seller. Will buy again.
I have only just received the product so haven't used yet. I would however like to comment on the seller though. There was a problem and seller went out of their way to solve it. I really cannot recommend enough. Superb.Update:Dyed a tracksuit top. It worked to produce an even, vivid colour. You need to be careful with the dye as it will colour anything the solution touches. Good stuff.

Amazing dye but...
I primarily got this dye to add a flare of colour to a failing artificial wig. As the wig was heat-resistant I thought I would give it a go as I had seen a few people on YouTube doing similar projects. I followed the instructions to the letter and everything went amazing and the colour was so vibrant, everything I wanted. I then rinsed the hair in water until it ran clear and just to be sure the dye was completely removed, I stuffed it in a pillowcase and ran it through the washing machine (yes it works). So at this point it had been washed and cleaned vigorously enough to remove any trace of the dye, or so I thought...The colour still kept coming of the wig, especially onto my hands or sheets but that was not the worst part. There is an awful and pungent chemical smell that just seems to cling and cling to dyed object, even after several washes it still to this day smells of the chemicals. So is the dye good yes and no. It does the job in vibrant colour but be careful of transference and odour but then again I think this is common with synthetic chemical dyes.

Does the job but.....
I bought this to dye a polyester cricket sweater. The weight of garment meant I needed two packs of dye so I put the dye and garment in the largest pot I have for use on the cooker and boiled garment for 45 mins as advised, with frequent stirring. However, the garment was a bit of a tight fit in the pot and when the process was complete and the sweater washed it was streaky and badly creased. The creases didn't come out with ironing and the dye streaks have persisted after washing. I wouldn't buy this dye to treat anything other than small items unless you have a large cauldron to boil it in! Also, most sythetic fabrics do not take well to being boiled and will crease badly. However, this product did dye the garment as it said it would. I wouldn't use it again though on this type of fabric

Would recommend. Read the instruction carefully inside the packet
I used the violet IDye Poly this is the results I got for only boiling them for only 30mins.I took a few before and after shots but forgot to take a before of the top so I included the online shop photo of the colour it was before. As you can see the bras were a poly/cotton blend in some places but I think it made them more interesting. The photos of the boiling were taken after they had only been in the pot for 5mins. It's very quick to dye to a lighter shade but the longer you leave it the darker the result. All in all it is a very good product for dying synthetics no matter what colour you started with if you are trying to dye it darker you will get a good result. If you are wanting to get all over even colour when dying mixed fabrics ie. polyester or any other man made fabric and cotton or any other natural fabric I would suggest buying the ploly dye and the natural fabrics dye and add them both to the pot.I hope this helps anyone thinking about buying it.

Rubbish
You have to boil the garment for 30-60 minutes!

Zero for two attempts at bright pink (in a washing machine)
Other reviewers have said they had success with this in their washing machines but two attempts, one at 60 degrees C and one at 95 degrees C, didn’t make much of a dent in this formerly ivory-white garment. The label claims it is 100% polyester. Both the care label and the buttons have come out the required shade (after the second attempt in a hotter wash) but not the garment itself. After the first wash it came out extremely pale pink, after the second was pale pink with a distinctly grey hue. It’s just for a fancy dress costume, on a second-hand item, because I didn’t want to spend much. I’m going to attempt using Dylon machine dye to see if that covers the (possibly mislabelled?) cloth and, if not, I’ll give up.I had intended to do it on the hob but when the packet arrived, it specified that you must not use a pan that you use for food/cooking. I don’t have a pan I’m prepared to sacrifice to dying clothes, so that’s why I attempted using a washing machine. (I’m only trying it because I thought the second-hand item was cotton and therefore planned to use Dylon in the first place!)I did run cleaner through our washing machine first so that any dirt that might catch the dye was removed and I’ll be cleaning it again afterwards before I test it and maybe put a dark load or two through. In summary, I’m quite envious of the people who managed to get it to work in a machine.

Do the work, it takes time
Started with a very light mint green alpha direct polartec hoodie. The clothing is great, the color was not. I read about how to dye polyester and this seemed like it might be worth a shot. Getting that much water to boil was the hardest part. It was about 50deg outside (have to do this outside, the smell is strong) on a little one burner camping stove. That wasn't going to work. So I tried a propane torch. That added enough heat, but it was kind of scary. Your clothing must stay in the boiling water for at least 1/2 hour. And then it was a little difficult to get the smell out. I rinsed and rinsed and baking soda and vinegar. Finally it it odor free.Pros - it works. your clothing will change color. Cheaper than buying new clothing. mess-freeCons - must be done outdoors. Hard to predict exactly the resulting color. boiling water takes a whileI like this dye and will probably use it again if I want to change the color of a piece of gear

Works great to dye clear plastic
I used this product to dye a vacuum formed clear visor for a full-sized Halo helmet. It worked great. I dipped the masked 5 times as per instructions from Galactic Armory. Awesome!

Quick and easy!
This stuff works amazing with vibrant colours that stick to %100 polyester. The above pictures show beige polyester pants I dyed for 30 minutes in near rolling boil water. I did two pair in a 16lt pot and it was a snug fit for freely moving but it worked well. I’m confident the solution could have handled 4 pair of these pants.Worked way better and way more vibrant than Ritt dye did when I tried to dye a poly nighty red, and the red dye for synthetic fabric left it a purple-pink. I did end up liking the colour but it was not a great experience. It also took 90 minutes.Pros:Easy to useQuickEffectiveSafe to dump for sewer or septicCons:Strong odour (ventilated area recommended)Some chemical compounds may irritate use glovesRecommends not using dying pot/tongs/paddle for food use after.10/10 will use iDye poly next time I need to dye synthetic fabric

Actually dyes poly!
Definitely important to use heat, but this works really well! I like that it comes in a safer dissolving sachet so it’s not as dangerous/reduces the risk to inhale particles, and includes a color intensifier. Please try to use outside or at least with ventilation-and don’t use with supplies you’ll use for food.
