Looked for a while for some speakers to give some life to a suitcase player I'd purchased. Found these and hooked them up to a Retrolife suitcase player and the difference in sound was night and day. All I needed was the RCA cable. However, managed to snag the AT 70 in the past few days and with the quality increase in the turntable I've been impressed by how the Electrohome speakers have performed. I am by no means an audiophile, but I know when something is pleasing to my ears. I don't have the ideal setup, but it works for me and even with the positioning of the speakers, when I crank the volume it really gets loud. Bass isn't bad, my test has been tons of Led Zeppelin and John Bonham's drum fills really sound great. No included remote, and the volume switch is located in the back of the speaker, but I love the ease of use and Bluetooth functionality. So if you're dead set on using a remote and not walking two steps, find the other model of these or another pair altogether. A slight inconvenience to me, but not worth a negative mark. Playing music from my phone sounds amazing as well. I love the look of them too, they have a great retro feel that I really like. All in all I'm happy with these. I got them for about 10 bucks cheaper than they usually go for and as someone who is just casually in love with music, they're perfect at what they do.

I own high-end speakers like the Harbeth Monitor 30.1 and Wharfedale Denton 85, and wanted a good Bluetooth speaker for my year in the U.S. After researching many under $100, I chose the Electrohome Berkley for two reasons: it’s made by a specialist audio brand (not a generic one), and I loved the classic look. At first, the sound felt flat, but after two days of use, it became clear, smooth, and rich. Now I’m very satisfied — it fills the room nicely when I play Classical FM loudly during the day, and sounds just as beautiful with soft jazz playing quietly in the evening. The wood finish closely resembles the look of my Wharfedale Denton speakers, which I love. One small downside: the power and volume knob is on the back, which makes turning it on and off a bit inconvenient. Still, the sound and design make it well worth it. I slightly regret not choosing the larger McKinley speaker, as it might offer even better sound. Highly recommended if you want solid sound and style at a great price.

I'm no audiophile, but these sound pretty good to me. I'd say they're heavy in the bass and mid tones, which is something I prefer, as I find myself more sensitive to tinny/treble sounds. I got these used. My only issue is that the red wire connection clamp is sort of broken. I have it fixed at the moment, but the grip is a bit tenuous. No big deal, and I'm still pleased with my purchase overall.

Great bookshelf speakers that serve multiple purposes. I’m using these speakers for a smaller room record player system and they work exceptionally well given the size. If you are looking for a professional setup, you’ll likely have to look elsewhere. Bluetooth connectivity is fair seamless, though the dial is manual so that might be a slight hindrance for some.
