Okatsune 103 Bypass Pruners General Purpose Medium (One Pack)

These are fantastic pruners that are super sharp and cut through larger limbs easily. They work so smooth you can tell they are high quality. And you can open and shut the locking handle with one hand by just using your Pant leg.

If you want a quality pair of pruners that will last you many years - buy these. They are built like a tank, even the locking mechanism closes with a robust thunk. They are very sharp and easy to sharpen. They slice through most sticks and canes with ease. I have used more expensive brands and I can't believe these only cost me 30 bucks.

I debated between these and the Felco for a long time but went with these and I'm so glad I did. I was mostly concerned about the latching mechanism on these being difficult to use but it's actually great, much easier than the thumb latch and very robust. These feel great in hand, are the perfect size for what I need, cut great and make a very satisfying sound!!Honestly I go searching for more things to prune just to use them!! I will say that it's not stainless steel so it does rust, even though I usually wipe them off and I even oiled them over the winter. All in all these are a great pruner at a fair price and I would definitely buy them again (although I don't think I'll have to as this pair seems like it will last for quite a while!).

Five stars all the way! These are the best pruners around. I had a pair long ago from a nursery but they broke and I could never find them again until I looked on amazon. Simply rhetorical best.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I've been using these bypass pruners for a couple months now. I was skeptical that such an inexpensive buy would 1. do a good job 2. stay sharp. They do both! I tend to grab them over my expensive Felcos. I bought the case that goes with them too and use them daily. I’ll definitely buy another pair when they are old and tired.

It is quite different from most pruners I have used. It uses a very simple and thus reliable spring for the tension mechanism. When it is fully sprung it is a bit less ergonomic to hold and apply pressure to make cuts. However it is well made, feels very solid and very sharp right out the box and will likely last a very long time. The grip although hard plastic is very comfortable. The locking mechanism is also very handy. I highly recommend this for cutting smaller branches no more than 1/3 inch in diameter.
