This game just keeps going on, there are 3 modes so if you get bored of playing on your own you can play with a friend or even do the memory game. Takes 3 batteries which are not supplied. Overall fun and entertaining for kids and adults.

This little handheld hand is small enough to slip in your pocket or handbag, so great for taking with you to occupy kids on car, train or plane journeys, for instance. It is powered by three AAA batteries (not included) which go into the battery chamber on the back of the device. It has an on/off button, a ‘mode’ button (to change between the three modes of the game) and a volume button. Each of the nine tic tac to squares are push buttons. When you push one down it lights up to she where you have ‘moved’ in the game. There’s two modes of tic tac to/noughts and crosses game: single player mode, where you play against the device, and challenge mode where two people can play against each other. The rules of noughts and crosses ares very simple but this has a slight twist: you can only have three squares lighted at any one time. So when you press a square for your fourth play, the first one goes out. This actually makes it a bit more interesting as a game because you aren’t going to just get endless repetitions of those stalemate games you can have on paper, because you never reach a point where all the squares are full. It also means you have to think a bit more strategically as the game continues until one person has won, with previously used squares coming into play again. The third mode is a memory game, where the device goes through rounds of lighting up squares in succession, first two, then three, then four, etc. and the player has to repeat the sequence in the correct order. With two and three it’s pretty easy but when it gets up to sequences of seven and then eight, it is certainly challenging. So a handy little time-filler for the kids (or grown ups) on a journey or when waiting, such as in an airport or doctor’s surgery. And it’s good that it has a volume button so it doesn’t have to be loud and about everyone else on the plane!

I bought this for our youngest Granddaughter to play when she visits, and to my surprise its far more fun than I expected. Three Modes: Single Player, Dual Player and memory Game You can reduce the volume or turn off the volume. Buttons are plastic, but feel fine and illumination is clear. requires 3x AAA batteries (not included) For £7.99 my expectations were not high, but I was wrong and this is a very worthwhile game, not just to play but a good start introducing logical choices to youngsters.

Simple noughts and crosses Americanised to Tic Tac Toe and converted to an electronic game. It has 3 modes, 2 work, one doesn’t. The straightforward 2 player and the memory game both work well. The man v machine does its own thing. If you press a red button and it’s not happy with your move it’ll turn the light off and replace it with whatever it wants to do. I played this mode many times, I thought there must be a reason, some sort of logic involved. If there is I couldn’t find what it is. The instructions are on the back of the box and under the description of this unfathomable mode is a note “half probability of water release.” Maybe I should play it in the bath to have more success. I am pleased that the sound can be switched off. Being played at full volume in the back of the car would drive me mad! As this is a toy for young children it should have details of what it’s made of. Just stating that it’s made of plastic does not comply with UK law. If this game was more expensive and all the modes were problematic then it would be a 1 star product. But at the price it’s unreasonable to expect too much. It’s okay for the price, but I wouldn’t pay more.

Very plasticky - appears cheap looking. However, works well and is a simple bit of fun. Ideal for car journeys.
