Carry-on size suitcase
This suitcase was the perfect size for our Lufthansa flight to Germany. They are so strict about the size of what you can bring on board and this suitcase fit into their tester box. My husbands did not. I like the color and so far it’s great—zipper and wheels work well. Thanks.

First trip with it complete, great little suitcase.
Took this suitcase on its first travel and was pleased with all aspects of it. I easily fit a weeks worth of clothes into it, the straps inside kept the stuff in each half in place when opening. I also fit a large coil of cable, my own toiletry kit and some other misc electronics along with a light jacket and it all fit comfortably snug without needing to unzip the expander. The handle was a nice improvement over my old suitcase, being a 6' person the handle had plenty of length. I also enjoyed being able to roll it along beside me rather than pull it behind me although you need to watch for snags on the floor. A couple times a wheel snagged a small rock on the floor which caused it to tip.I found the idea of the center externally accessible pouch to be great but actually using it in practice is a bit of work. You have to unzip the expander zipper and then unzip the pouch zipper and even then it's quite tight to stick your arm in there and grab something. I had a power charger battery pack in there way at the bottom and it was some work to get it out.The bag easily fit in the overhead bins of 3 of the 4 airplanes I have flown in. The bigger ones that are 3 seats, isle, 3 seats it's no problem, it'll even go in there skinny orientation on its narrow edge leaving room for other bags no problems. The newer 2 seat/2seat smaller plane i flew it also fit the bag no problem. But the old model 2 seat/2seat small plan did not and they had to 'valet' check it which wasn't a problem and also was free.Overall really happy with the suitcase. Through the sliding in and out of cargo places, it only had one scuff which i was able to wash and make it less noticeable. I would certainly recommend this suitcase and look at other Olympia suitcases in the future.

Wow! Perfect in every way!!!
Wow! Perfect in every way!!! I traveled all over south England with with the Olympia 22 inch suitcase and it performed GREAT!!! Lots of room, especially when the expandable portion is unzipped. It fit in the overhead bin with no problem, even when fully expanded. The wheels roll great and are very smooth. All the handles and telescoping handle are great. There is no reason to keep looking for a light weight carry on.... add to your shopping cart now!!!

Yes! It actually DOES meet the newer, restrictive carry-on requirements
I was kind of panicked after taking delivery of the suitcase just a day before I needed to leave on an international trip upon which the as-advertised dependability of the suitcase's features depended. Well, okay, it wasn't going to cancel my trip, but if the case had to be checked, it was going to result in LOTS of baggage fees, well exceeding the cost of a nice, new, way more expensive suitcase. When I measured the case at home, it was a 1/2-inch over the airlines' stated maximums -- uh-oh.But, as you can see by the pictures, there was no problem carrying-on the suitcase, and I was on at least 3 or maybe even 5 (I forget the details) different airlines with no problems in a multi-stop international trip.Another reviewer recommended applying silicone to the zipper to keep it from sticking. I'd recommend against that: the case now has a rather persistent silicone smell and the odor could permeate your clothing and the suitcase lining. I also siliconed the handle slide and hardware, and the wheels. So they all worked great, but that might've not really been needed. On one part of my trip, I decided to walk about a mile pulling the case rather than wait for a shuttle bus that I wasn't sure was going to show up anyway. The wheels worked fine. I also pulled the case easily around 3 - 5 miles in total over city streets, train platforms, and to the complete other side of Logan (if you know what I'm talking about, that's a good 20-minute walk). No problems. Well, the handle could've been a bit more comfortable and nice big inline-skate style wheels would've been better, but not sure you're going to find those type of upgrades at this price point.Inside, the case is pretty well designed. If you expand the zipper to get the other 2"+ inches of thickness out of the case -- it will no longer fit as carry-on! But that's no surprise. So the extra 2" option is nice if you're checking it.The hidden pocket is a very nice feature, but I didn't find it terribly useful when actually rolling the suitcase, because you must unzip the expandable part of the case to access it. Therefore, you're not going to be using it as carry-on. Also, if your case is pretty full, which is easy to do since it's a fairly small case, anything in the hidden pocket is going to be pressed by the case contents, making insertion and removal of items from the product inconvenient (you sort of have to jam things in.) Nevertheless, overall, this is a very good case for the money. Why not 5 stars? I'd say it's not a PERFECT case from a design standpoint (as mentioned above), and also, I'd be concerned about it's durability for a frequent traveler, especially if the case were loaded heavily and checked frequently. Cloth, zippers, slightly flimsy feeling handles, and a thin-ish case material, I expect, will wear or break rather quickly. It comes with a 10-year warranty, "(original sales receipt required)," so maybe you'd put some stock in that if something breaks. (Not to impugn the reputation of Olympia International, but I'm a little skeptical of the value of the warranty. I hope I wouldn't have to pay shipping back to them, effectively making the warranty a huge pain.) But for the occasional traveler who wants a bargain and a very functional suitcase, I think you'll be quite pleased. (The extra money for the colors seems a little silly, but if you're style conscious....)For my purposes, I'd buy it again and I recommend it.
