This clear mat is great for protecting the carpet from the wheels of the computer chair. It's nice and rigid and the computer chair moves easily across it. I'm very glad that I bought it.

Things to be aware of if you're considering this product:- it arrives flat, not rolled, and is unlikely to fit in a locker (and is also awkward to carry)- it has protective plastic film on it which we found highly protective, to the point it was quite hard to remove!Neither of the points above is a reason to remove a star from the review: the product is well protected. Even though the packaging for mine had ripped along one side, it was undamaged.At 3mm thick, this protector is 1mm-1.5mm thicker than any others I've used, and 3mm is quite a step on a flat floor, so you do need to be aware of this potential trip hazard if young children or people with poor vision or impaired balance or mobility are around.The surface of the protector, once the plastic film is removed, is frosted but almost transparent, revealing the floor underneath clearly. This means it's unobtrusive while doing its job.The surface promotes a very easy glide on the soft silicone wheels we've fitted to the office chair that is used on the protector, and there is no noticeable noise when moving the chair.I am very pleased with the floor protector, it does its job well and I fully recommend it.

This arrived in a large parcel as it wasn't rolled up. This is a bonus as I've found it hard to straighten out previous rugs that have been rolled.It's quite big - so check your room can take it - and so a little difficult to get upstairs.Once inside my wife's office (our 3rd bedroom 🙂) it was easy to lay and proved to be quite effective in use.It's thick enough to protect your floor and see thru so you can still see the floor.It does allow smooth rolling of the chair whist remaing still - the anti slip works well.All in all a good product at a reasonable price.

I went for this in the 47x36” size. It came well packaged in a box to keep it flat, so no issues here with unrolling and having creases in it. The plastic is actually surprisingly thick, so it’s very rugged and feels like better quality than one I had years ago. It’s totally transparent so of course you can see it’s there on carpet, but it’s less obtrusive.The top is smooth but not slippy, while the underside has lots of raised spike-like shapes. These help to grip the floor, and I’ve found it stays in place well on our carpets. I imagine over time it might start to leave indents but that may be preferable to the damage that can be caused by the likes of roller desk chairs, or not being about to use a rocking chair because it moves too much. I’ve used this with a rocking chair on carpet and the chair does stay in place a little better; it does’t stop moving entirely but it went from moving all over the shop to staying roughly on the same spot, which is great. I think it rocks a bit better on this harder surface compared to carpet, too, and that’s the main thing I was curious about.This is a pretty heavy item and it certainly feels very robust, though it’s also pretty expensive. I think you invest in the quality with this one so while I wish it were a bit cheaper, I’d still much prefer this over a cheap but ineffective product. This one does the job nicely so I’m very happy with it.

Carpet MatThis Carpet Mat is delivered in a huge piece of flat cardboard. You will definitely need to be home to accept it. Don’t expect the neighbour to take this in because it takes up a lot of space, as you will see from my pics.We didn’t realise that this item would be as solid as it is, we thought it would arrive rolled/folded somehow, but to be honest, the sturdiness of this item is a plus point for what we need it for.My Husband is a DJ, so stands/sits in one spot at his decs for long lengths of time, so this sheet of polycarbonate is certainly going to save our carpet.Currently we are using rolls of plastic hallway runner which constantly moves about and looks extremely unsightly.The new sheeting has a semi smooth top allowing a chair to slide easily over it, while the underneath has little nodules to hold it in place in the carpet. It’s clear, so you can still see your carpet through it, and it’s easy to wipe clean.At £64.99 (at the time of writing this review), it’s quite pricey, but if it saves your carpet, then it’s worth it.As always, I have added a few photos to this review which I hope you find helpful.

I replaced the carpet in my home office recently because it had become worn where my chair goes, something that was quite costly and very inconvenient. Having this polycarbonate protective mat prevents my carper from being worn and it also provides a better surface for the chair wheels to sit on.

Great for protecting hard floors, this mat is both sturdy and reliable. The non-slip surface helps keep my chair in place while allowing for smooth movement. It’s thick enough to prevent any marks or scratches on the floor, and I haven’t noticed any curling at the edges, which is often a problem with other mats. It cleans easily with a quick wipe, keeping it looking fresh, though it could be slightly more flexible.

This is the fourth chair mat I've ordered from Amazon (and from others) - and the first one that I liked and didn't have to return for a refund!I gave this chair mat five stars because this mat came delivered FLAT and undamaged in a full-size and sturdy cardboard sleeve, ready to plop down under my chair and get to work. It's firm surface makes rolling around in my chair a snap. It cost a little more than the others, but definitely well worth the price.The other competitors' floor mats I ultimately returned came tightly rolled up on a box, and were a hassle to unroll and get sort-of flat. The competitors' chair mat surface was soft and squishy. Worse, the other competitors' mats were difficult to roll around in my chair leaving my chair stuck in a divot in the plastic mat.This mat arrived flat, was easy to pull out of the box, install, and now my chair rolls around easily.

Super mat! This is very strong and durable. We have a tile floor and our office chair does not have castors so the legs get caught in the grooves of grout making it difficult to slide the chair on the floor. The mat makes all the difference! Now the chair slides very easily. The mat is a thick material and very sturdy. It comes rolled up in a box so you’ll need to allow time for the curled edges to settle but they do in a day or so. Highly recommend!

My wife is disabled and can't use a normal desk chair. She's got a recliner that we built a wheeled base for, but it was hard to roll on the carpet. We got this mat, and it's smooth sailing. It's nice and big, so she can maneuver the chair around, and it rolls very easily on the mat, so isn't a struggle to get ino the right position. It's holding up to the weight of the recliner just fine as well, so everything is going fine wih it. It's made her life a lot easier, and that's the best praise I can give it.

Got this for our office for my wifes desk. The previous one we had developed dips in it making it hard to roll. This one is holding up great. It barely gives as she rolls accross it. Also it came boxed in its flat form making it easy to install with no need ot unroll. It si as described so 4 stars.

This chair mat is much bigger than I expected. I should have measured. It's too big to go under my computer desk between the legs. I put the legs on top of it. It comes flat sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard. There are pieces of plastic film covering both sides. When you peel them away, you see that the mat is clear. It's flat on one side. That goes against the floor. The other sides is slightly textured to give your castored chair a bit of traction. I can see my beautiful heart pine floors beneath the mat and be confident that this mat is thick enough that rolling my chair over it will not harm the floor. The mat came very slightly pushed in some places in the sides, but it is not noticeable and make no difference.
