My laptop is overpowered for its size, so I have to have an active cooling pad for when I'm deep into work. Since it's only 13 inches, I figured this HAVIT pad would be a good fit. However, the design makes it hard to use.Though this cooling pad does allow for adjustable height and angle, the pad itself is over half an inch thick and has NO taper. That means the laptop is already sitting up higher than it should be and even the most shallow angle is way too steep for comfortable or ergonomic typing. Anything going under your laptop should taper down toward the front so the front edge is as close to the desk or whatever flat surface as possible.With this cooling pad I have to use an external keyboard in order to not type at an uncomfortable angle. If you're already using an external keyboard then the lack of taper won't be as big a deal to you as it is to me. I choose laptops based on the keyboard so I don't have to use an external one.If you are typing on a surface you can adjust up and down or have to make do with a surface that's already too low, then this cooling pad may work for you. The fans do provide cooling and are pretty quiet. Since this is smaller than average it'll go well on a desk that doesn't have a ton of space.Overall, I don't like the design of this but can see some use cases for it. Thus is gets 3 stars.

There are six fans in this plus a phone stand that flips out on the right side. The phone stand does not work if your phone has a case. The fans keep my laptop cooler, it has been getting too hot to sit on my lap since I put in a large storage drive. This protects me from the heat and cools the laptop itself down. The description is not very clear on how this is powered, I only saw it mentioned when you scroll down to more info, but there are two USB ports at the back next to the switch - you can plug the cable into one of these and the other end into your laptop USB 3 port or plug it into a brick and wall outlet. The switch itself has an off position, and then you scroll it to turn it on and to higher fan speeds, so the speed is adjustable. It is also quiet; on the high-speed setting, it is only a little louder than the fan in the laptop.
