Franklin Sports MLB 21" Soft Sport Bat & Ball - Blue - Lightweight Kids Bat + Ball

Although this is marketed for younger kids, I actually bought this for my 10 year old son who is a bit accident prone. He loves it. Both the bat and ball are padded and I have peace of mind that he won’t hurt himself. The bat has a little bit of weight to it so it isn’t completely lightweight. I feel the current cost ($17) is fair considering the quality and that its name brand. Overall, this is a great set for kids and worth buying.

I think this is a fun toy for my son. The ball is super soft, but the bat is a bit harder than I expected it to be.

We recently got a gift from the grandparents of a bat that ended up being way too large and unwieldy, this jumbo barrel bat is what we should have started with. There seems to be a plastic bat core wrapped with a softer pleather style outer material that provides some cushioning but still has firmness. This isn't something I would let your little one run rampant with inside your house they could still do damage.The size is pretty on point at 21 inches with a jumbo sized barrel, small enough and light enough that kids can easily swing and make contact. The ball is soft, almost mushy that could work for kids scared of getting hurt by an uncaught harder ball. We had some lightweight plastic balls that worked well with the bat and I think provided a better experience than the soft ball.

I got this for a friend's kid and he loves it. He is three years old, so the soft material is perfect. He loves sports, so that was a natural fit. I am a bit of a child at heart, so I could even see keeping one of these around the office for some safe fun. Within ten minutes of the kid opening it, I got hit in the head with the ball and it didn't hurt at all. Safe and fun, what more can you want? Ugh, I sound like such an adult.

I like this cute set and I'll be using it with my little friend who I sometimes babysit. Prior to having this, we would use a little squishy ball and a random piece of wood from my woodpile, so I'm happy to see what she can do with this. The bat has a soft outer cover and the inside is a soft plastic bat. The ball is completely soft. The grip of the bat and the ball is quite nice and easy for little hands to hold onto. I also like how fat the bat is, although my little slugger friend does great with that skinny piece of wood, so now I'm going to be doing a lot more running after the ball once she gets a hold of this fat bat, haha. This is a great set, and good quality.

This is a fun bat for kids 3+, the bat is light but also got enough weight to feel that you're really batting. The inside of the bat is hollow, but they did do a good job at making the bat hard enough so that it doesn't flat out when you hit the ball.

My toddler has seen his older cousin playing in a baseball league and just completely looks up to him. Although my 3 year old is already in soccer, I thought I would see if he has any interest in baseball. I got this lightweight and padded bat and ball as a "starter". It definitely feels a lot safer than an actual metal one, hopefully we'll graduate to that one day. Although it is padded it still feels like good quality, well made overall, well stitched and sewn. The MLB logo makes this bat look very legit, and halfway to success is looking the part right? This arrived in excellent condition. This is a great one to get if you are looking to get your little one interested in baseball. I've gotten some other cheap toy ones but I should've gotten this set from day one because the other ones were really more like a toy that kids play with once and left in the dust.

After letting my kids play with this bat and ball, here are my thoughts:*The ball is soft and won't hurt anyone (or break a window)*The material for both the bat and ball is faux leather....which is a little bit of an odd choice but it works.*The bat is heavy enough to hit the ball a ways or hurt a kid, so supervision is still needed. It is soft though, so when my kids started hitting things other than the ball, nothing broke. Also, the wider barrel of the bat works great for kids just learning to hit.*I didn't like the tag that was attached to both the bat and ball. Luckily I was able to remove without damaging the stitching.All in all....this set works very well for us, very pleased with this purchase.
