Review: DO NOT BUY - My wife and I have purchased four of this item. The only thing I learned is that we are slow learners. The design is great; however the actual manufacturing process leaves you with a non functioning unit in a little as 30 days. I just finished making one working unit out of three broken ones. The first unit was thrown away two years ago. On two of the items the plastics (cheap plastic) that is supposed to hold the silicone wrap broke. On the other two the units would indicate a full charge but not operate. I took the good plastic piece from the bad electronics and switched it out. Really, at this price point more should be expected in terms of quality. ### ⭐⭐⭐ works as advertised, just not powerful enough *by R***8 on October 28, 2015* I am writing this to provide information to other consumers even though I do not enjoy writing bad reviews. I hope this can provide information that was not available for me when I bought this about two months ago. Also, I feel annoyed because I spent $65 on a light that feels like it is growing less and less valuable. Things of note: it is loud when you activate the horn in a room at 96 decibels. It is blinding when you look directly at the light with two LEDs putting out 87 lumens each. These sound like good qualities to someone new to biking. But here's what I learned through using it: First, it's disappointingly dim. On full light mode, it barely lights the road so I no longer use it to see, I use it in hopes that others can see me. But I just ordered some monkey lights (rim lights) because multiple cars turning left have skidded to a stop, unable to see me coming from the opposite direction at night. I've been shopping for a new light for road lighting and planning to use this for added visibility. I ride only in an urban environment, but I want to see potholes at night and I'm thinking i might need something with more than 300 lumens to actually see the road. Second, the horn is almost useless. The polite bird sound is unnoticeable by other bikers or pedestrians. In the blare of a city street, even with only moderate traffic, some strange bird sound gets no one's attention. And the loud sound is just not loud enough. It sounds like: "eeeeeeee." It doesn't seem to get any driver's attention when someone is pulling out in front of me and I wouldn't know what that sound is if I were driving. Too bad I haven't seen a reasonable horn option that sounds like a car horn. So the horn feels more and more useless for me. I activate the loud sound for pedestrians and I am glad to have a horn for emergencies, but at this point, I think a loud mechanical bike bell would be better. In retrospect, I would have bought a front-back light combo, such as portland road works combo for $100, saving money on the front and end lights I bought separately and getting a 450 lumen headlight. And I would have bought a loud bike bell. I initially gave this two stars because it works as advertised and it is easy to install and remove every time I leave the bike locked up.
