Ghost Stories
A nice collection of James' stories. The Treasure of Abbott Thomas is not included.

Spooky
I like reading M R James' stories. When reading I often look towards the door feeling that something is about to join me. It is good to have a new hardback book. Not so keen on sculls though on the cover. My favourite : 'Oh Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad'

Good horror stories
My mother is an avid fan of horror especially the classics. Whilst she is still reading Edgar Allan Poe she also loves this too. She received this as a present for her birthday and she talks about this one too.

As a fan of James, I really enjoyed this.Ok, the story telling may seem dated but it's well worth a read.

Decent
It's hard to find any proper collection of M. R. James' works so I found this to be a refreshing product. Just a head's up it is indeed hardcover but somewhat smaller than what you may expect. Also this is not the fulle xtent of M. R. James' works but focused more so on his ghost stories.

A quality printing of James’ best known works
There have been troves of reviews on the stories of James, so I shall purposely neglect that aspect, and instead concentrate on this new volume of his work by the publishing arm of the British Library. Firstly, this is not a comprehensive collection, but instead contains eleven of his best known, and best, stories. The fact that so much is left out may be seen as a negative by many readers, but there are admittedly several books in print which contain all of his work, so perhaps another was unnecessary. Where this volume shines is in its quality. It is a slim book, but nicely bound with a silver-gilded cover, and looks quite snazzy. The pages are substantial and sturdy, an attribute which the Oxford compilation apparently lacks. Had they included the entirety of his work in a book with such pages as these, it undoubtedly would have been far too bulky to be practical. Everything is very well printed and bound, and speaks of the care that went into this book. If you are looking for an easily portable copy of James that you will be proud to show off, I think this would make a very nice option indeed.
