Kaico Edition SummerCart64 Open Source N64 Flash Cart with 64DD Support

Exactly as advertised, works great and came with up to date SC64 preloaded. The only complaint I have it is a little tough to remove the micro SD. Extremely narrow space behind it so I usually use tweezers.

Excellent value for money; all N64 ROMs play without issue, even those requiring expansion packs. It includes emulators for Game Boy and Game Boy Color that work flawlessly. The SNES emulator needs improvement; there are problems with games like MK and DK.

Works as described, pretty straightforward install. Games work great!

I'm absolutely impressed with this flashcart (despite being the first one I own). I'm not a dev so I don't use most of it's features. But I've been able to play some of my favorite games back into my original N64 console. I couldn't be happier with this! Keep in mind that you have to load your games but it's not too complicated. Just make sure you follor the instructions to the letter. The 8gb microSD card is more than enough for a big library of games in my opinion. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you have games that require a memory pak, you can't save insode the microSD. You need a physical or virtual memory pak (or at least that's what I've researched so far so if any Kaiko Labs people out there can enlighten me further I would appreciate it). The solution I've found is to use a bluetooth receiver for the N64 controller. The 8bitdo retro receiver has worked very well so far, and it has at least 4 virtual memory paks you can access to save your game progress. So I suggest pairing this flashcart with that receiver. Or if you continue to use an original wired controller then you should stock up with many memory paks. Other than that, I'm very happy with this. Haven't had any compatibility issues with my games. Definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys retro gaming and it's somehow affected by the current state of modern gaming.

The product works as intended. Doesn’t come with the N64DD files out of the box, nor does it come with any ROMS like other listings might. If you know what you’re buying, this isn’t an issue. This cartridge appears to be missing functionality to automatically update the firmware. This would be a nice addition considering you’re paying such a premium for this Kaico model. Can’t beat next day shipping, though. Some other issues to note with Summercart itself and not necessarily the listing, are that compatibility with some ROMhacks can be different compared to an Everdrive. Compatibility with some games can also depend on the version of the menu you’re using. If you’re having trouble loading a game, maybe try an older or newer version of the menu.

Kaico has put together a fantastic package here with a worthwhile warranty from what I can see in their terms on this amazing opensource DIY cart many can't just make on their own, myself included, so I went with this. The SummerCart 64 is everything the major competition largely does almost as well, but edges it out in quality of the system menu, tool kit, and presentation and ups it a notch because this is the one that can handle those N64 Disk Drive games natively alone. I like how it works, it does the job better than the everdrive(official) as I had one of the X7s and dumped it. The quaiity build is there, ir runs anything the ED can do just as nicely if not better (faster load), and can do more too with the 64DD being the worthwhile thing to mention. It's easy to open up and service adding a battery for the RTC for Animal Crossing and potentially more for after market creations happening these days. I can not recommend this kit and package maker/warranter (Kaico) more highly to get all you need at a far less exploitative pricing that krikzz does living off a reputation.

Great product. Takes a bit of setting up, for sure. Had no clue that the microSD could just be ejected, rather than necessitating taking apart the actual unit to access it. That might have been on me, but it's nearly impossible to remove the card without a pair of tweezers after the initial click. Better than it being loose, anyway. I had to do a bunch of digging outside, such as whether ROMs need to be unzipped to run (they must), and why a saves folder is on the default directory provided by Kaico's site, when another one gets created within the ROMs folder upon booting any game. Also not sure why I was provided box art of just about every N64 game ever released, when there seems to be no way to display it within the menu (probably is, but I need more digging). Regardless, this is a recommendation, for sure. Never owned an EverDrive, probably never will. Been wanting a N64 flashcart for years, this fit the bill perfectly. Transferred my Wii's virtual console saves to an applicable format, and they read flawlessly upon placing them in the saves folder, and retitling them to fit the respective ROM names exactly (.sra files, anyway; had trouble with .eep files, which was not nearly as crucial in my circumstance).

Ein sehr tolles Flahmodul, bisher keine Probleme mit Spielen gehabt. Mir ist allerdings aufgefallen, dass das Bild bei NTSC ROMs etwas nach links verschoben und damit leicht abgeschnitten ist.

El cartucho funciona muy bien, solo hay que actualizar el software del propio cartucho pero vale la pena, corre tanto backups normales y mods como shotgun mario y banjoo and kazooie nostalgic 64! Un pequeño detalle a tomar en cuenta es que varios mods no te funcionan a menos de que tengas la expansión pack

El producto llegó un día antes del previsto, bien empaquetado y en óptimas condiciones, la garantía a través del qr se gestionó sin problemas. Lo único que me gustaría agregar es el el usb que viene para usar la microSD no me funcionaba en el pc asi que tuve que usar otro adaptador de microSD que tenía por casa. Por otra parte la página de GitHub donde están los archivos necesarios para el cartucho está un poco desordenada en el sentido de que en dicha página no está bien seccionada y se mezclan varios tipos de flashcarts por lo que buscar los archivos específicos para el summercart64 puede ser un poco confuso. Quitando eso funciona perfectamente, ya probe tanto juegos de N64 como N64DD y al ser open source de código abierto da a la posibilidad de que se siga mejorando en el futuro, muy recomendable.

Semplicemente la migliore soluzione per una flashcart per N64. Compatibile anche con Analogue 3D.
