The book is out of date, many of the places described no longer exist or have changed hands and are a different place entirely.

What a gem of a book! As a resident of Brighton for 20 years, the fascinating facts and sights described in this book have revealed new joys in my hometown even more. Secret tunnels, secret bars and bizarre anomolies came to light. Interesting historical facts brought everyday sights that I have walked past dozens of times have been clearly explained. The style of writing is refreshing and light. It is never a chore to use as some ‘guide books’ can be and is easy to use. The author must clearly have a lot of fun researching this book. Photography is superb and atmospheric. The size of the book too made it handy pop in the handbag. I would highly recommend this book for residents of Brighton, anyone planning a trip however short and any intrepid traveller that values and appreciates sights that aren’t the ordinary and pedestrian. It will keep me busy for quite some time and so pleased with my purchase!

Liked the maps for each section - made planning walks so easy. Highly recommend.

Little Gem of a local guide. Living in the city for over 15 years and still have so much to discover. Due to its size fits well to be taken around town.Good balance of in and outdoor discoveries to be made, some require booking during weekend or open days.
