Not Bad for the Money
My review is actually 3.5 stars, however, Amazon doesn't yet allow for a half star rating (which I hope they fix soon!)Overall, this is a good product. Certainly not the best, and definitely not a replacement for a screen door. I purchased the screen after reading reviews and comparing prices. My purchase included two Magna screens. My reason for purchase is we have four large dogs (avg. weight 100lbs), including two working dogs. One is a puppy. They all like the freedom of going in and out and their leisure (my neighbors have a doggie door which spoiled them) and I felt the screen may encourage potty training (we have two Bloodhounds, who are very difficult to potty train). It does do what it claims-to help keep bugs out of the house. However, the magnets are not terribly strong, so you have to play with the placement of the screens to make sure they are close enough to "connect". I will breakdown mt assessment as pors and cons, with hints to help you.Pros:*Relatively easy to set up*Good amount of magnets*Aligns well during application of magnets*Relatively sturdy*Come with nail tacksCons:*Cannot use in direct sunlight - melts the sticky side of the Velcro*Screen itself is thin, breaks easily*Have to make several attempts to find the right "distance" for the magnets to attract (needs "slack" on both sides)*Magnets not strong enough to stay connected in the wind*magnets tend to fall off, particularly at the bottomSo the pros and cons are one half dozen and the other, as the saying goes (I think?!). We ended up tacking the the entire screen up, since the sunlight melted the sticky side of the Velcro within a couple of hours. The screen is definitely not made for high traffic, nor for more than one large pet running in and out. It served its purpose this summer and we managed to salvage the first of the two screens (I believe we put this up late May/early June over the sliding part of our sliding door). However, doggie paws ripped the bottom and we have magnets which fell off. I still have to go over and make sure the magnets connect as we always have a breeze from the ocean. But we do have far less flies in the house, so long as I make sure the magnets connect and the screen is closed. A bit of a pain, but since I only have the sliding door open when I am home, and am frequently in that area of the house, it became natural to check it.In sum, this isn't a bad screen for the money if you have a lightly traveled area, and only one dog using it. Be wary of where you place it, align it, provide enough slack for the magnets to attract and connect, and make sure you use the included tacks to secure the screen in place.

It Really Works!
7/6/2014: I need to add to my review. I've lowered the star rating by one star because the glue is not good enough on this product. The door caught on my dogs collar as she was running through and it ripped off the door frame. I expected to just put the velcro back together when putting it back up, but all the strips had come off the fabric completely, the gluey halves still stuck on their mates on the door frame. I decided to sew them in place, but when I attempted to do so, the glue stuck to my sewing machine needle gooing it up and causing the thread to break. I settled for stapling the strips onto the screen. I suggest the manufacturer should sew on the velcro half that goes on to the screen. The glue doesn't work.~~~~~~~~I needed a screen door for my back door, but we couldn't install a regular one because of our doggy door. We needed something compatible with that. I decided to try the Magna Mesh Screen after reading the reviews here. I figured the worst that could happen is I'd be out the $27 if it didn't work, but I'd be smarter. The Magna Mesh Screen is very easy to install. It took me about half an hour because I'm kind of anal about making sure things are straight, level, even, etc. The only tools I used was a tape measure and a step stool (cuz I'm short) to reach the top of the door. The screen works wonderfully! I walk through and there is a nice satisfying sound of faint clicks as the screen closes behind me. I can have my back door open to let the cool air in, but keep the bugs out! HURRAY! When I close my door, my fur kids can still use the doggy door, and go through the new screen too. They are remarkably compatible together. In addition, all four of my fur kids (1 dog, 3 cats) learned in a manner of seconds how to go in and out. Everyone in my house is very happy with the screen. One more bonus. With the screen being attached with velcro, I will be able to take the screen down and store it in a safe place when winter arrives. We won't be needing it with all the snow and frigid temps we get around here.My only complaint is that I don't think the glue is strong enough on the velcro pads. However, it comes with tacks for reinforcement if you have a wood door frame, which I do.I don't know how long this screen will last. It is very well made, with good quality materials.

Hot climate issues
I live in New Mexico and do not have air conditioning or an evaporative cooler. Leaving the door open gives me the advantage of cooling off the house (as well as allowing the dogs ingress and egress) but controlling insects in the house is a problem. Several years ago I bought my first Magna Screen. I really like the product EXCEPT . . . if you live in a hot climate be prepared to have to find a way to hang the screen that doesn't rely upon the velcro provided. The glue on the velcro "melts" in my temperatures. I've resorted to nails (the thumbtacks provided aren't strong enough for a long term solution) which has worked well for me but someone unwilling to put nail holes in their door frame might have problems. I hang the screen in April and it stays up until October most years. I can get about 2 years of use before having to replace the screen -- it is really important to not let the screen drag on the ground as that increases the likelihood that a dog or person will step on and damage the screen.
